Purchasing extended warranty, worth it?

Hello everyone,

I just bought a 2009 coupe and my warranty is about to expire in 6 months or 12k miles, whichever comes first. I would like some help figuring out if I should purchase an extended warranty. Should I go through infiniti directly? Buy else where? How much am I looking at roughly? Thanks for any help.

My car is not showing any type of problems as if yet (knock on wood) but I would like the peace of mind after the warranty runs out.

I say yes .... I debated over it and we didn't get it on our '08 G. A few weeks ago the Blue Tooth/Voice Control module went and it cost me $1200 to get it replaced. My wife uses it a lot for work so we really needed it to get fixed. I got the best extended warranty Infiniti offers when I bought my M.

I would also say yes. I have it and it is well worth it. You'll have peace of mind knowing if anything goes wrong you're covered. I got mine and I drive pretty roughly so if anything happens, they will fix it for free. I got the 0 deductible one because if you get the 100 deductible one, you have to pay 100 every single time you go there to show them your car even though if nothing is wrong with it

Very debatable but I got it when I got my G as "peace of mind". I also got the 0 deductible.
If you decide to get it just make sure is the Infiniti, not a third-party warranty.

They're offering it because they know that in the end, they make money on them.

You need to decide whether you want to bet on you coming out ahead.

That's true with all insurance/warranties ..... darned if you do, darned if you don't. But .... with all the mass produced electronics and computers you are bound to have some rotten eggs in the bunch.

As Clint would say .... "Do you feel lucky?"

Like others mentioned, if you do decide on the warranty BE SURE it's from Infiniti, those third party warranties have more fine print than anything you've ever seen. They always say warranty claim voided if engine overheated. How the hell are you going to prove that it didn't And that's just one of the get out of jail free cards they have in their arsenal.

I got the warranty on an 09 coupe

Hi guys, I went ahead on the bumper to bumper warranty on an 09 coupe with 36k miles when I bought it used. I mean, the pricing of a plastic coming off or some stupid window breaking and ALL the electronics that could go wrong I think you'd be better off. I hated paying for warranty but I figured for around $2400 for another 35k miles bumper to bumper it was the way to go. I mean after a week I had some weird ECU problems, and some weird trunk plastic coming off so they took care of it. AND you get roadside assistance if you're into that.

Again its having the peace of mind if something should happen... its not that much considering ... ecu fails, AC, anything electronic .... pays for itself right there and then... no worries...

Its the outside warranty people that you should watch after and their fine print... screw that... Infiniti built it have them cover it...

Yet too if you never used it... its all worth it at the end having a peace of mind your ok and covered.
