G37 broken into twice in less than 6 months.

Ok so I wake up this morning go to my car and the lock/ door handle is pryed but they couldn't get inside my car this time. So I too out the lock cylinder and replaced it with a dummy cover and also the entire mechanism with a square grey plate. It's around $30 dollars just the passenger side cover. The first time I replaced just the cover. They popped off my keyhole delete cover and pried the lock and windows rolled down. IPod touch stolen and air freshner. This time around I know the guys were pissed to pry it open just to see a gray square plate behind and no key. since the lock cylinder was removed and replaced they couldn't locate the metal rod behind the lock cylinder. However, I ended up with a messed up door and now have to take it into a body shop. I urge all of you to do this mod. It is worth it!! Also a question out there for the members should I go through Insurance again or pay out off pocket. 2 claims in less than 6 months I am nervous they will drop me or jack up my insurance premium sky high. Another thing is that when you report a claim like this it goes on your carfax as vandalism depreciating the value of your car. Any advice out there? Also I have pics on my iPhone of the damage. Not sure how to upload the pic so if anyone knows how please share.

it's your EX's BF maybe? install a black vue or some cam in the car. and don't go back there.... not too sure about the insurance claim, it should not go up sky high IMO...better to check before any claim and just get price quote for the repair. GL and keep us updated.

It's an ex for a reason. Unless as stated she gives good head then your trouble may be worth it.

That sucks- I try to never leave anything in my car; visible or not. Those thieves are thirsty. I'd stay away from the ex if I were you. This might be a sign.

Damn a Hole!
One its Vandalism your insurance wont raise just like a H &R... I have that coverage and used it 2 times in less than 4 mo apart.. still pay the same since then no issues.
2.
Look into a Aftermarket alarm...
3. Keep it in your pants or invite the Ex to a hotel...lol
4. Its someone who knows a G yet your car... not many know how to pop off a key delete!

Lastly... was it Worth it??? LoL

Sorry for the loss good luck patching up that hole ouch ...

+1 on not leaving visible valuable items in the car. I hide them in the arm rest or just close the cup holder cover.

LOL! funny because mine was broken into at my GF's house too..... well, fiance' now.

Mine was a bit worst. Stupid criminals tried to pry open the door from window. Like they stuck something down the window and tried to pry it open. Couldnt open the door that way so eventually, they just broke the window. Did more damage than the gym clothes and a couple of shoes they took. Still pisses me off thinking about it.
