Steering angle sensor part#47945 JK00A p1

The short version, had work done on the g.

During the time car was in the shop, when they disconnected the suspension, they damaged the flex knuckle on the steering column, speedo cable & steering angle sensor.

Had the part checked at local dealer,it is fully operational.

Now I only ended up paying for the steering angle sensor, not the other parts ,my problem is I found a old invoice from a body shop.

They had the same issue with the steering wheel off center 1st alignment they sent it to the dealer & had it reset via consult III.

$610 later, nothing was wrong with the sensor, that was replaced just a bad diagnosis by the shop.

I am curious, how many if any of you have replaced this part.

Any techs on here, please need your input.

Will be going after the shop, refuse to pay for someone else who caused problem. I'm looking for replacement #s.

Anyone I speak to at the dealerships keep telling me only 1 or 2 have failed, so I know the shop who did repair lied to me.

Thanks for the help, I appreciate the input.

Can't believe I paid $600 for something that was not broken.

There is nothing wrong with the sensor most of the time. Whenever you disconnect either the sensor or detach the suspension from the steering wheel, the sensor needs to be reset. There is a function in consult 3 to set neutral steering position. That's usually the problem.

600 for the steering angle sensor is ridiculous.

You should've never paid for the steering angle sensor. It is directly attached to the clockspring. If it is broken, it would be caused by the shop when they broke the clockspring.
