a/c recirculates automatically ?

The ocd is kicking in hard now! Here's one that's been bugging me for a month now.

When I turn the a/c on, it automatically switches to recirculating air, which I hate! I have to manually switch it back over to outside air (when I remember to look down). Is this standard? Any way to change it in the menu that I've missed? it's not a big deal- just a pain in the ***.

Thanks in advance for helping alleviate my ocd!

That is normal because it is to hot inside your car and it tries to cool down. Once the A/C see that in the interior of the car is the same as the temp set it will change.

You can test this out by turning the a/c and moving the temp dial hotter and you will see it change. very normal.

What do you guys normally set your temp to? I don't mean to complain, but i think the ac in mine works a little too well, the thing freezes me out as soon as i turn it on!

Usually set mine to 65 initially then turn it down to 70ish.

Depending how hot it is.

Well, technically hes turning the air down , the number is just going up . I usually put mine between 60-75. 70-75 normally and when its hot as ***** ( mid florida (so almost every day)) its at 60 .

It's more efficient to recirculate the air in the cabin. So I'm assuming that's why it does that.

Hush. Hotter probably in TX than FL and mine is on 75 cause if I put it on 60 I get cold like in 10 mins.

I may be wrong, but I always thought the system first goes to recirculate whenever the outside air temperature is greater than the inside setting. This is in order to cool down the inside a bit faster rather than letting in very hot air.

On similar note, when starting out on a hot day with an inside temperature of 130 degrees or more, I open both windows as I drive off until it comes down to a tolerable level.

You are correct sir. Don't want hot air to come when its 100+ degrees outside.

Great comments- makes sense now that I think about it, as I almost always leave the a/c set on 60 and turn it on or off manually (not big on climate control). Thanks!
