Damaged IPL / AERO side skirt damaged by shipping company....

Hey guys something for your thoughts.
*I just received an order from Orderinfinitiparts.com yesterday for an IPL/AERO front bumper, washer fluid container and IPL side skirts. My daughter accepts the delivery and checks the stuff out and discovers that one of the IPL sides has a dent. The delivery guy gets into his truck as my daughter attempts to stop him and takes off. I called the freight company " Rist Transport / Wadhams Enterprise and explained the situation, but of course like everything else I get the run around and still haven't received a call back. *I Called Orderinfinitiparts.com and was told to make the claim with shipping company first and then maybe work something out for a replacement exchange, you would think they would just return the item and send you a replacement. * As the consumer and a purchase of $ 1050.00 *the consumer should be taken care of. I'm not bashing Orderinfinitiparts.com I'm just think the process should be a little easier. 10 days of waiting for order and $522.00 later and know I have to wait ... Especially after being so exited about the upgrades ... Thats Just wrong !

Damn man sorry, I hear yea about the customer sercvice side of it they should just have you send them back, Dont (orederinfiniti) pay for INS for the shipping of these things? Once the claim is opened they should send you a replacement pair. I just installed my IPL sides last weekend so I know how Excited you where ..

Sorry to hear but this gets in the touchy area of "you accepted the delivery". Technically they can play that card and they are not liable nor is the shipping company. But I hope they do the right thing and it works out for you.

Was the packaging damaged or does it look like it came that way from orderinfinitiparts?

Wow that is some messed up stuff. I hope everything works out.

BTW for those who have stealerships around you. Check with them first and see if they will price match. My stealership priced matched at the last second. I was getting ready to get my CC and order from James at OC Infiniti. If there is no stealership around you then I guess online would be the best way =).

The boxes had normal wear but who knows .... There's no paint damage just the dent it was wrapped. It could of happened anywhere after removing the wrapping that's when I noticed it.
Dealerships in NY, NJ won't even touch the pricing. I'll try to down load some pics.

Sorry to see that, bro!

Here is how it works, though:

Unfortunately, you accepted the delivery. First thing that should have been observed is if the box was damaged. If there was no damage on the box, then you accept the order. Once you open and the part itself is damaged, then Orderinfinitiparts.com shipped a damaged part.

If you don't have enough info to figure out which is the case, you are going to get the run around.

I would think that since they run a big operation they would get you taken care of on this right away no questions asked.

I've had many issues like this come up and what I do is send a repalcement item right away and then file a claim with the carrier to get the issue resolved.

I know I'm not always the cheapest on stuff because of the shipping charge, but it's more peace of mind and making sure the item gets there on time, safe and with no damage.

At least when you guys place an order with me you know who you are dealing with directly and not just placing an order over the internet and not knowing who is on the back end of it receiving the order.

Hope this matter is resolved for you as quick as possible.

I'm presuming your daughter who accepted it didn't know this, but when you are present to accept a shipment that contains anything that can be damaged, always insist that the deliver person wait and watch while you open it for inspection. That would have prevented you having issue trying to get the damage rectified.

Do not let the shipper give you the run around. Find out how to make a damage claim and make it ASAP. This is what you could consider undiscovered damage if the packaging didn't show clear evidence of damage and it was only noticed upon opening it and inspection. Stay on it.

Hey guys thanks for all the comments....
Just got homebfrom and inspected the packaging of the side skirts and there it was ... The corner of one side of the box had a gash on it. Unbelivable !!! SMH I've should been here for the delivery because I told my daughter make sure the packaging is not torn or broken. Good the bumper is perfect not a blemish.
Received great news from Jim at Orderinfinitiparts.com there going to send me another set of side skirts ... Wow ... they're really stepping on this one. All I know next time I order anything that big I'm going to make sure that I'm here to accept the delivery myself.... Lesson learned.
I must commend Jim for being a true professional and to the FORUM you guys are awesome.
So let's see what happens when I get the second set .... To be continued
