I installed the GT-R red push start button today. Looks great! Except the installation was a pain! I read all DIY's on the forum and my original button simply would not come out by pushing from behind. I had to remove the panel under the steering column to get access behind the button, and used a flat head screwdriver to push the snap tabs out.

Another problem is that during my attempt to swap out the electronics so I can have the ‘white’ vs. ‘orange’ lighting, I broke off (my own fault, it fell out of hands and broke off) one of the LEDs on my original (blue) piece. Pissed!!! So I had no choice but to install the button as is.

 

So my question now, do any of you have the original button guts they are willing to part with? Since I’m a newbie, I can’t post anything in the classifieds ad.

Does the GTR button illuminate at all? I was thinking about this but I like how the stock one illuminates

The button itself does not, only the START/STOP letters illuminate orange... If you swap about the brains, you can have those letters with illuminate white... I took pics so you can see...

But overall, the button looks super awesome!!! Especially during the day... Pics don't do justice...

had DieselDoug modify my GTR button for me a few weeks back, just finally got around to swapping it in and I'm loving the look. I'll take some pics and post them sometime this week.

 

i actually like the stock one much better, the GTR botton looks cheap but thats just me.
