I'm having trouble filling up my gas tank, i think it's only filling up to 10 g. What should I be telling my mechanic to fix? Also, there's some gas residue near my gas tank, what should I use to clean it. Doesn't seem to come off with just water and a good wipe.

 

have you tried taking it to the dealership first?

 

it should be 15 gal!

 

Try a different pump? Make sure the nozzle is in all the way, and don't try to "TOP OFF" more than $.25

 

Actually it should be more like 17 gallons (assuming you're almost on E). My last fillup was over $70 and it's only going to get worse

But I had your same problem before. They replaced my fuel sensor and it hasn't happened since. Just take it to the dealer and they'll know what's up.

 

so does the pump stop at 10 gal, even though it's empty? or you can't really tell how much gas is in the tank, and it top off at 10gal?

if it's the first one, then it may be your fuel gauge...
