Does Your G37 Instigate Road Rage???
Definitely agree with you guys on this. I am 23 but look like a 16 yr old and have an '08 37s and the looks and mean mugs I get are priceless. Thats where 20% tint and 50 on the windshield comes in handy, just roll the windows up so they can't see anyone. As far as bad driving, smh you guys should take a trip up to NYC and drive through the five boroughs for a few days. It absolutely amazes me how many horrible drivers there are here.
Ive only ever had one bmw 3'er fanboy see me car and then drive about 90 miles per hour to catch up to stop and try revving it up by me. I left him be as he just looked like a douche and he took off again. Just ignore them. Some people i dont give the satisfaction of a compliment by looking at their car. They dont deserve it.
its not the car. its sh*tty humans. human race is an epic fail. people suck. i see the same stupid **sholes on the road whether im in a corvette or a 79' rustbucket pickup. if they are not doing stupid sh*t to me, its someone else. people = sh*t for the most part
i freakin' agree 100%

yes this happens to me here in spokane as well.. i have a g37xs 2012 and a lot of guys in their little ugly hondas always try and race me at stop lights. im only 20 years old as well and i do sometimes get dirty looks from people.. maybe it is just a jealousy thing but who knows. haters gonna hate. nothing we can do about it.
I don't think my car instigates road rage; in fact, I really enjoy some chill tunes and cruising. Then again, today I was merging onto I-95 and could hear the exhaust slowly amplifying the purring note and couldn't resist putting the pedal down to hear the motor scream.

Tailgating - this could be an a-hole bad driver, but usually it's people who want to see what type of car you're driving. It's surprising how many people don't know much about cars.
I agree with Black Betty and JjasonSU, people who experience road rage are usually provoked.

I also had an older guy at the red light driving a newer Camry V6...(yeah... a Camry), he turned and kept looking at me. When the light turned green, I expected him to hit it hard and I just thought I'd let him go... but he didn't. He stayed behind me for a few seconds, then caught up to me and kept looking at me and gave me this weird smirk and gunned it... well, long story short, that one day I did not feel like taking it, especially from a Camry...

And as many have said before, I also get the nasty envious look, as if I didn't deserve the car somehow.
As lopez13jesus said earlier... "haters gonna hate. nothing we can do about it."
I had a 2007 G35 Coupe for 4 years, and am now in a 2011 G37 Coupe, and almost daily I come across people who want to race, or simply "get ahead" of me.
I will be driving with the flow of traffic, and because my lane is moving a little quicker, I will pass someone who is in the lane to my left. Now once that person notices what I am driving, they HAMMER their gas and zoom pass me only to have to hit the brakes because the car ahead of them isn't travelling as fast as my lane. This happens all the time. And not from BMW's or, usually, Audis, but from cars like Aveos, or a Toyota Matrix, and especially from minivans.
Regarding the minivan, it's again daily that I come across a pent-up dad in a minivan who decides he needs to race me.
I think the whole phenomenon is akin to the Bull and the red cloak myth. People see our car, and need to prove SOMETHING, whatever that "something" is, I have no idea. And this isn't me speaking from on high with any kind of snobbery because quite frankly, where I live, the G37 is the low man on the totem pole when it comes to nice cars. I see Ferraris weekly, more Porsches on a daily basis than I can count, Lambos here and there and Aston Martins when I'm lucky. Bentley GTs are commonplace, and BMWs and Audis can be found in dozens and dozens on my daily commute.
The problem these days is that they are stuffing more and more horsepower into cars that aren't sports cars. So now any idiot who can mash a pedal to the ground, can speed along in territory that was reserved for sports cars in days gone past.
I also find that women (and this isn't coming from a sexist tilt, but honest observation) that drive SUVs simply step on the gas until they have to hit the brakes, and that usually has to occur with a sudden violence. They drive a big, safe (for them) SUV and take no heed as to how to actually drive.
That isn't taking the onus off aggressive male driving, but is something I see more and more of daily...
