New owner, picking up '08 tomorrow, questions about extended warranty options

Take deliver on a '08 Journey with less than 15k miles tomorrow so I'm trying to review my extended warranty options. Our nearest Infiniti dealer is over an hour away. We do have a local Nissan dealer. Look like the Infiniti Elite Plan will get us four more years but it has to be done at the Infiniti dealer. Not really an option for minor problems since every repair will become three day deal at a minimum. I didn't see anything in the Elite plan about using a Nissan dealer. Any recommendations on third party plans? Carchex is not available in California for this car. With our other new cars (Ford & GM) we have not purchased extended warranties and had no major issues even though we keep cars typically for 10 years or more. This is our first Infiniti and looking for feedback and options.

You can get a quote from Infiniti of Scottsdale. They are very competitive with their pricing. You can also choose whether you want to pay a deductible or different amount of years.

isnt the warranty for infiniti till 60K miles? you basically have 45K more to go... by that time, you should have found out the problems/issues (If any) already...
I tried going with my luck, not wanting to spend extra.

He's probably almost nearly at 4 years (I am, next week), which will expire the warranty regardless of mileage.

I got mine from Courtney @ Infiniti of Scottsdale.
People have different opinions about extended warranties but I think I got a good deal.

Honestly, IMO I wouldn't get the extended warranty. Did you buy your car from a legit dealer and get a full car fax on it? If so and it checks out ok. You should be fine for a pretty long time long as you do the oil changes and stuff like that.

Original factory warranty expires in Sept, and carfax was clean. Think we are going to pass on the extended warranty for now. Really doesn't help if I have to drive 60 miles one way to get factory service.

I purchased my G in California last month and I got the warranty last weekend from Arizona. For what I udnerstand, you might have to take it in to your local infiniti dealer for an inspection.

As for me, I did purchase my car from a legit dealer, certified, carfax and plan to do all the maintenance but I guess is a "peace of mind" not worrying about something going wrong not just mechanically but with all the electrical stuff like the navi system.
