that's awesome...if i have an experience like that i'll definitely be singing that dealership's praises!

Today I took my 09 in to set up an appt for Monday. I showed them the wheel and said," On the forums online this is said to be a 'warranty' item."
Svc Manager said Yes, if the car is still in factory warranty, which it is.
Ray Brandt Infiniti, Metairie, La.

I also asked about some small dents in the aluminum insert in the shift ****. He said and I agreed that it looked like dents from a ring. I agreed, not mine but previous owner (no rings on my right hand ). He said "if it were peeling they could replace it." I asked with a grin, how can I make it peel? No answer, but he did say that any parts like that they replace under warranty go back to Infiniti for eval and if Infiniti doesn't see it the same way, the dealer pays for it rather than Infiniti, so there is a check and balance of sorts.

Mine started peeling recently, but with 75K miles, I'm way past my warranty period.

I'd like to refinish the bezel somehow, but I'm not sure what to do. Paint it? Wrap it? I'd like to do the same dark gray color to match the buttons.

There must be others in the same situation as me. What do you people suggest? Or, if you refinished yours, what did you do?

I just got my steering wheel, shift ****, and instrument cluster replaced today due to cosmetic problems. I love how the new steering wheel feels!

went to the infiniti dealership, they didn't give me any kind of trouble whatsoever and ordered the wheel, door handles and shift **** along with setting up an appointment right away. the guy that helped me even said "try to keep it under 60 or at least close by the time you come in"...obviously that won't be a problem, i don't see myself driving 3000 miles in two weeks but it was kind of cool to see they weren't so rigid about the warranty rules. i've been to this dealership a couple times and they've always been nothing but helpful and courteous, hopefully this can continue

This is awesome! I thought it was just wear and tear but if this can be covered by warranty, I'm def. taking it in. Sweet!

Didn't know they'd replace my shift **** as well. I already had the door handles replaced and am currently waiting for the steering wheel to be delivered. I'll have to ask about the shift **** when I go back!

Didnt know this was a common problem. I was thinking it was because of my "acid hands" haha. When I had the lease turn in inspection, I was nervous thinking they mght ding me for it but nothing was said about it. If I would have known earlier, I would have swapped it out. It was ugly looking at it.

I just called my dealership today and the service rep was really cool about getting it replaced. He only confirmed the locations of the finish and once he was sure, he went and ordered the parts. Really awesome!

Hi! I got the same problem on my steering wheel too. What is the mileage on yours? My G37 '08 is bit over 60K miles so you think it is still possible under warranty? I wanna better prepare my case. Thanks.

i'm at 57k, still under warranty. i think your best bet would be to tell them that it's been like that since well before you reached 60k...if you wanted to bend the truth a little, maybe say that you would have gotten them swapped earlier but a prior rep had incorrectly told you that it would not be covered? just an idea.

Mine is at 44K miles. They might not cover it since my dealer asked my what my mileage was and said I was still under warranty. You could go with what benito said though. GL
