Which insurance company? Will they give you a check for the estimated amount? You can fix it from another garage, considering the fact that the dealer cannot spell 'infiniti' correctly(see item #93) I highly doubt their repair skills
some silly kid in his new X5 getting excited swurving in and out of lanes. Ended up swurving infront of me and the girl infront of him got scared and slammed her brakes, he slammed his brakes, and I went into him.

Bizarrely, the airbags didn't deploy, I must've hit him going 30kph or so by the time the brakes slowed me down

Hey Sam

It's actually perfect.

I was very very lucky, pretty much not even a scratch on anything except the radiator. All damage was superficial body work which was both demonstrated to me in person and by 4 independant inspectors (hired at cost of insurance co at my request to prove there was no real damage).

I was going to post a series of pics showing the repair from start to finish. The work took 2 weeks in total including testing, checklist and service (it was close to service period so they did it at the same time after repairs).

Runs beautifully with no faults, vibrations, issues, or otherwise and I must admit that I was truly impressed with the quality of the repair. It is impossible to tell anything ever happened to the car, the paint job was perfect.

I took it to two bodyshops in Dubai (Royal Customs and Chrome&Carbone) and stayed quiet about the repair. (They knew it had been in accident). Both bodyshops thought I had managed to get the car written off and bought a new one until I told them it was the same car and they were honestly very surprised at the quality of the job as well

So all in all, can't complain. The car runs perfect & looks perfect.

Only issue is my premium is likely to go up next year

Not sure how things work there, but can you file for diminished value?

No unfortunately that concept does not exist here.

Don't think that would apply here as he hit the other individual. Not say it was his fault but he did hit the other person.

Perhaps next time you might want to read the entire thread before you spew.

So it's about $23k on initial estimate, dropping to $20k after discount on parts and labour
and insurance co are claiming it's down to about $17k after their negotiator/inspector visited infiniti and took a look at the car.

I'm trying to play the "it could go up as well as down" card but they're adamant about repairing it. I'm trying to find an excuse to get them to total it.
