Review: Autokits' Carbon Fiber Mirror Covers

From the moment I saw them, it was a 'must have' for me. To start, I was one of the first 5 orders on these for the Coupe, so Alex hooked me up with a great deal. After installing, though, I must say that I would easily pay double for them!

Quality & Fitment: Straight from the box, you know a good product when you see it. This was my first time dealing with Autokits X, and I am very satisfied. The carbon fiber is fabulous and the clear-coat surrounding it is perfect. When I went to get them covered in clear-bra, the guys from 'Highline Customs' really complimented the mirror covers, saying, "wow, they've done a really good job on these. I would definitely buy from them again if I were you." That was nice to hear, so compliments to Autokits.

The fitment was 95% perfect, I'd say. It's so good that I actually had to tell the guys who complimented it that it was really just a cover and not a full replacement, because that's what they assumed at first. That's all you need to know.

Installation: It was a piece of cake. I'm clueless when it comes to doing car mechanics/body, and I got this done in under 10 minutes. You align, remove the 3M tape lining, and squeeze them on. Very straightforward and common-sense-like.

Impression: This is probably the best 10-minute aesthetic mod we can get for our G. It's very subtle and very exclusive, and manages to look boss! Audi's S/RS-class mirrors got nothing on these. But I do highly recommend that you clear-bra these right away to avoid rock chips on the perfection.

Time for pics! Sorry for the poor quality; using phone.

Here are additional pictures detailing the edges. As you can see, they're all really well done. Also notice how the clear-bra fits over the CF. It's almost invisible unless you're as close as the picture was taken.

Correct! It's Blue Slate. It only cost me $160, but that's because I got one of the first 5 orders. Normally, they'll run you $200, which is pennies difference, really. They're very worth it!

Just got mine, the fitment is excellent.
Im glad its just the cap, who knows what this would cost if they were full mirror housings.
Ill spend the $ if need be, this is one of the easiest mods & looks so good.
Got tons of compliments already, keep up the good work Alex.

Thank you, guys! Thumbs up to whoever got them as well! And don't worry, the fitment is not 100%, so you will have a slight edge visible where the cover doesn't wrap around, but it's completely unnoticeable to anyone but the installer.

A full replacement would be way more expensive and it would surely be a PITA to install, so I'm very glad they released just the covers. That way, any hillbilly can install them on his own instead of taking an entire mirror apart. That would suck, lol.

If you guys get more pics, post them up! I will get a few close-up pictures of the covers today and add them later. You'll see in more detail how they fit.
