Post Warranty questions

Picked up my 08 S coupe 2 weeks ago. It will run out of warranty on Dec 31st of this year.

I'm REALLY liking the car and could see my self keeping it for a while (which is odd considering this is my 7th car in 7 years).

Anyway, the only question is, should I be worried about it post warranty? I know its a well made car and should be pretty good for the most part, but I do want to hear some opinions from you guys about it.

Mine will run out on April 1st 2012 and is purchased fully paid off.

I plan on keeping it for a while past that time.

You cannot forsee issues so enjoy it while you have it if you want. If it makes you feel better having a new car with warranty, do that. Whatever helps you sleep at night.

Good luck with your decision!

We are heading to Infiniti on Friday to meet with someone about getting an extended warranty on our 2008 Coupe. I have never gotten one before and we keep all our cars 10years or more. Just some things on this car are so expensive it would probably only take one major thing to pay for itself. Darned if you do, darned if you don't ....

My Xterra is 11 years old and have had nothing other than normal wear/tear items but the G is a lot more of a machine than the X.

I also have an ’08 coupe and I’ve never had any real problem with it other than the battery/vent valve replacement per a TSB last year, and a recall regarding some gas line issue. If you make sure these two items have been taken care of before your warranty runs out, I would think you have a car, already rated above average in reliability, that should give you many years of trouble-free motoring.

The only thing that could detract from that is if the previous owner drove it too aggressively, or if it’s been in an accident or if he/she didn’t follow the recommended service intervals.

That sounds good.

I had them run service records and its been serviced at Infiniti the entire time. Notice several TSBs were done, and oil was changed religiously every 4k miles.

i was told from my service advisor that just the window regulator for each side cost 500 to bucks to replace and is very common issue and will defentely go out. I have infiniti elite warranty covered up to 2015 or 100k miles. Its worth around 900 bucks or so, came with the car.

since i purchased my car, on the stock warranty i have replaced steering wheel due to scratches on the corner, shift ****, driver side door panel due to a screw sticking out, both side door panel aluminum trim piece due to scratches close to 3k in warranty stuff

That's exactly one of the things the finance guy said when he was trying to sell me on the extended warranty, how funny.

Trulegend, question for you? These items were replaced for free under warranty? I thought that only defects were covered and not cosmetic/ normal wear-and-tear items? I ask only because I recently purchased a new 2011 G and the people who tinted the windows scratched two pieces of aluminum trim on the inside and I was contemplating whether it was worth it to get fixed or not. If it is covered by warranty then I would obviously get it fixed. Could you shed a little light on your warranty or how the dealership responded when you asked them to cover these items under warranty? Were they happy to fix it or did you have to ruffle a few feathers? Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry on my ipad Search under my name, I have a thread with pics

But basically told them of imperfections and scratches and they took care of me. I had not even bought the car from them. This is under STD warrNty.

I think they charge back to infiniti so the dealership does not absorb the cost.

The window motor is cheap and easy to install..

I didn't opt for the extended warranty.. These cars are reliable.. Do you think Infiniti would offer extended warranty's if the car wasn't realiable? It's all a numbers and statistics game...

Put the money in a interest savings account and use it whenever you need to..

So far I've been lucky with my 07' having no issues whatsoever after warranty... Knock On Wood!

More money for Mods!!! $$$$
