First off thank you for using my car to inspire your wheel choice, hehe lol. Secondly, im with everyone else, you should at least just get a pro kit to close some of the wheel gap, trust me you will not lose ride comfort, if anything the car will feel more responsive on turns. As far as complications with the wheels, on a stock height or with even an eibach the rear shouldnt be much of a problem with a 275/30, to be on the safe side use a 265. The fronts will be fine. Hope this helps and can't wait to see the car completed!!

haha, nice. Your wheels look sick, only rims I've really liked so far.

so you'd recommend a 265/30/R20 on the back and 245/30/R20 in the front? any particular make you'd recommend?

Also how do you find the offset on these wheels? I checked on gotyourwheels.com and it seems they only come in 25 offset for the x9 and x10.5 - did you need to put any spacers in there?

25 offset on stock height will poke like crazy. even slightly lowered it will poke like hell in the back

Poke as in poke out or stick out of the sides?

ok I'm a bit confused...I was under the impression our stock rims are offset in the high 30's

shouldn't that mean that they petrude more than 25 offset? Understood that it's a larger wheel in diameter, and the width is 1inch thicker than current (10.5 vs 9.5 stock) but 25 offset should be at least 1cm more tucked in than stock, so they should be petruding a maximum of 2cm more than stock right? or do i have this completely wrong ?

^ You've got it backwards. The higher the offset number the more tucked it will be. The lower the number the further it will stick out bro.

ah crap, but they seem to look fine on G37-J's setup. I'm not sure I understand how lowering it would make a difference to how far the wheel sticks out?

Also how do i determine the ratio between wheel size and offset that I would need to ensure it was flush with the fenders? For example, If I get a 265 tyre, do i need say 40 offset to ensure it's flush? how do you work it out?

I just spoke with a very helpful chap over at gotyourwheels.com who claims he is an expert in this particular vehicle and wheel setups.

He said they can shave the Incurve IC-S5's by 10mm to get the offset to 35 for me which should be perfect for the g37-coupe. Though he recommended lowering the car, he said at 35 offset it would be flush with the fenders when the car is not lowered.

He also recommended 245/35 front tyres, 275/30 rears

What do you guys think of this? Seems like a win/win if what he's saying is correct.

Lowering tucks the wheel in so it's flush with 35 offset. 10.5 +35 will still poke on stock height.

LOL, im running hankooks, 275/30 in the rear and 245/30 in the front. But im lowered and completely removed my rear bumper bracket cause i was rubbing. With the 25 offset they def. will poke out on stock height and with spacers even more(spacers push out the wheel), but by lowering the vehicle you bring in the camber so the wheels will sit flush with the fender. Hope that helps, glad gotyourwheels.com was able to help you out, your gonna love the wheels once you get them!!

Btw something else i forgot to ask - if I swap out wheels and tyres will I need to have new sensors installed for tyre pressure etc?
It wouldn't be 1 inch closer to the body, only 1/2 inch. Unless your wheels are oval. And gatting bigger wheels without a drop will increase your ride height as well.

You can transfer your stock wheels' TPMS into your new wheels.

I may have some pics of a 20 inch wheel without a drop in my albums.... feel free to look around.

IDK about you but I just cant stand that hideous wheel gap in the front.

Thanks but it sounds like they gave the wrong advice...Gotyourwheels is recommending 275/30 in the back and 245/35 in the front. Eric, the guy I spoke to, said he could shave down the alloy to 35 offset (10mm) and it would be perfect, he said I could and should even go to 285. It seems to be conflicting advice compared to what you're saying and I'm more inclined to believe you since you actually have them and said you had rubbing issues. How much would they be sticking out on 35 offset? are we talking enough to make the car look stupid i.e. more than an inch or so? Would I also have this issue if I went say 265? I'm still trying to understand how to determine what offset/wheel size calculation I'd have to do to figure it out

I agree the gap is not ideal, it looks worse on the sedan i think but that's why I was sort of thinking of getting a larger wheel to compensate but then I'd have to get the ECU re-calibrated I suppose to ensure my speedo was reading the right speed.

A larger wheel wont close your wheel gap, it will just make the car sit higher. And you dont need a speedometer re-calibration, the speed difference wont be noticeable at all. If anything it would be off by less than 1mph.
