People on these forums have such a hard on for vossen, its not like one wheel damage pic is gonna kill business. Just post it up and then take care of your new legal duty to check out the wheel, test it further, and understand what it can withstand. If this is a freak accident, then say it. If the driver was reckless, so be it; a wheel certainly can't withstand anything and everything you throw at it. This is notice to the company that there is a potential problem with the wheel and that should be dealt with accordingly. Gagging the pic only makes people more interested.

I'm not knocking on Vossen at all, but must agree that the pic should not be removed. Pic should be reposted, and perhaps Vossen can provide comment or advise as to what exactly may have happened. Knowledge on this type of incident will only help this community. I'm glad Vossen was quick to respond and provide a new wheel. In the grand scheme of things the right thing to do would be repost and request Vossen provide comment.

I would assume during R&D, Vossen or the wheel manufacturer would conduct failure tests. As such, some sort of comment (not conjecture) would benefit any potential or existing customers. Again, I'm not trying to stir the pot, just think although an extraordinary circumstance, still noteworthy. My $0.02.

I dint think we know much details of the incident. The OP makes it sound like he was going casually through a turn and hit the curb and the rim broke. But people are talking about damage to the caliper as well. Seems like the impact was way more serious than it seems.

+ 1, they're only covering their own ***.

strict product liability has been the death of many small businesses.
