Depends on what you value. If aesthetics like hi-res nav, red stitching and body kit mean that much to you and money's no object sure. If you're after performance you can do better with 3rd party mods and save some bucks. Personally I'd wait till we have a real update to the G37 which sounds like 2012 may be it. Although I'm not expecting to be "wow'ed", we shall see.

Why not just stop by any dealer and look/touch/make photo or whatever?

I agree; if you're considering to get it, you should go check it out and test drive it.

I was shopping for 2011 G coupes at the end of Dec 2010 and money was no problem. Sat in the IPL on the floor at Infiniti Lisle (western Chicago burbs) and really hated the red & black interior. I know, performance vs. Looks, and I am a chick. But the interior turned me off completely. Plus, I think it was only, like, 15 (???) more HP than the G37x coupe and that's what I eventually went with. Plus I needed the AWD, I believe the IPL is RWD. Anyway, those 2-3 factors are what turned me away from the only IPL at that dealer.

Why Kenny? I mean the special edition thing is noted, but does it really make it that much more special? Granted you don't have to do a lot of upgrades to the car, but that's a whole different thing. Half the fun of these is being able to mod them up.

Good luck to the OP. I know someone else whose recently bought one, but haven't had a chance to talk to him yet. He's in Nashville.

you have to realize the number of people that just read the forums, and don't want to mod the cars and just keep it as is. He's gotten plenty of thumbs up because it is a rare car and stands out.

That's why I got the M37 sport -- I'm only one of probably 20 in the whole Long Island area with a sport packaged M... and thats why I'm back and forth about getting rims-- no one really has the 20's that I have.

Is it noted that much better of a handling car? No, the reason of IPL is to be unique. The red stitching I love b/c it's subtle, and the car just flows fine.

I like G_Rider's Coupe that's dropped... if I got an IPL (or G coupe w/ an aero kit, I'd slam it too)

I love the side sills on the aero/IPL kit.... the front sits well when the car is lowered. And the rear makes it create a small widebody look

^ since you work for Infiniti and you talk about "rare" IPL, can you tell us how many are actually made? I know you have access to that info.
It just doesn't seem that "rare" to me. Like for example the Frozen Gray M3, their are 30 made in the U.S., even if you have the monies you can't find one anywhere, I can walk into a few dealerships and easily locate an IPL.

Correct but the IPL virtually comes in 4 ways:

-Graphite shadow/Graphite w/ Red Stitching automatic IPL
-Malbec Black/Red automatic IPL
-Malbec Black/Graphite w/ Red stitchin IPL 6MT
-Graphite shadow/Graphite w/ red stitchin IPL 6MT

total IPL's available only about 400 of them in the whole country -- only about 80 of them are 6mt's

It's a start for Infiniti. Other makes offer almost 4 interior choices and 10 exterior color choices.... they don't want to go the route that you need to order your car and it takes 6-9 weeks.

Thank you Kenny that does make sense, 400 is still a very low production number. Is their fewer IPL's or Bloomingdales?

bloomingdale's only had 175 2009 verts made....

2010 anniversary edition sedans were 350 only, 2011 limited edition malbec black sedans were 350 (175 rwd, 175 awd)

2010 anniversary convertibles were 175 (graphite shadow), 2011's limited edition convertibles are 175 of them (malbec black).....

it's a slow start because you can't choose combos -- let it be as it is.... no decisions except if you want it or not.

same like the wife-- she wants some odd limited edition Chanel bag... her decision but she can tell the difference that only 500 of them are in the whole country.... go figure

my buddy loves his anniversary sedan -- people always ask how he got the red leather etc etc....
some people wish to be noticed
