Battery question

Hi,

Since this amazingly wintery weather in NJ area my coupe stays clean in garage for over 3 weeks already and I am driving my Jeep. Should I worry about battery charge and other things like flat spots on my Pirelli's? I know that 10min warm up will not charge battery well, I need to go on highway for some time for this but I don't like getting salt and dirt on my clean G

Should I buy charger since it might stay in garage another month or even more?

Same situation here....except my Jeep is actually a 4Runner. You don't need to get your G out on to a highway to get the battery recharged. That's a myth. The alternator will put out full charging voltage at idle. If you start it and let it idle for 10 minutes, the battery should be at full charge, depending upon its state of charge before you started the engine.

But the best thing to do is to buy a battery tender. They are inexpensive and you hook them up to your battery and plug them into a wall outlet and forget about it. The battery tender will monitor the battery voltage and provide a trickle charge to keep it fully charged up. You don't have to do anything at all. Lots of people use them for vehicles that are stored in the winter.

Flat spots on the tires? If you're worried, just roll the car forward or backward a foot every week or two.

I make an effort to start my car at least twice a week for at least 5 min. This way I dont have to worry about battery or flat spot issues with the car. She sounds so mean in the garage!
