Wtf really?

I was looking for a 2011 g37 coupe sport RWD and the salesman at the kings infiniti in brooklyn was saying to me that the ratio of AWD vs RWD cars was 15:1. He said it was going to be near impossible to find that car that i wanted, and if he couldnt find it he would have to put a order in and it would be here in july LMFAO

Maybe not 15 to 1 but I went down tho virginia of all places and can vouch......they have a TON of awd models vs very few rwd. That's in the south where you would figure awd wouldn't be very necessary.

Add in any other factors like specific option packages and it's very possible your car may be that hard to find

Gotta say that's a shocker to me. I figured most folks would want RWD. And aren't they cheaper than AWD?

Yeah I thought people would be saving money with rwd but I think everyone sees audi, subaru, etc with all awd and figures it has to be better than rwd

Nothing wrong with driving to get a car....i went from ct to va for mine

In Canada the RWD sedan is now only offered if you buy the 6MT. All automatics are AWD. You can't even special order a RWD automatic.

The coupe RWD/AWD split is about 50/50 right now but the RWD sales will probably drop more.

I guess you have to go further south to find dealerships with predominantly RWD versus AWD. I bought my 2010 sedan RWD in Sarasota,FL.
The only AWD G37 I noticed on the lot was a used one.
It might have just been the inventory at the time I was there.
There had to be at least 2 dozen new G37, RWD sedans and coupes. A lot more sedans then coupes.

I'm pretty particular on the options and color combination's I want, when I buy a car. This usually results in the dealer having to locate what I want from another dealership.

When I was looking for the G37 I have now, the dealer said they had one coming in by ship in a month. I told them to forget it, so they got what I wanted from a Fort Myers,Fl dealer, about 100 miles south of their location.
When I lived in Kansas a dealer got me what I wanted from Colorado about 600 miles away. Another time a Kansas dealer got me what I wanted from South Carolina almost 1,000 miles away. Every time they were delivered by truck and I put in the contract that the sale was subject to my final inspection.

I find these "observations" interesting about AWD though, all of the dealers up here tell us that they have AWD up here, but all the dealers down south carry RWD? Apparently they're full of it...
