I gotta say the stuff works on my 09. I had a faint outline on the roof from a bird crap that I carefully cleaned off but the paint was slightly etched from the ****, competently dis-appeared a few days later...

Yeah, I remember a thread from before about this, and there were mixed opinions about how well the stuff worked, if at all. I think for very very fine scratches, it MAY work.

Was there some waxing implications with the soft coat? I checked my '10 G coupe and the sticker said hard clear coat. I dont know if Im happy or not about that.

I had an 09 and now I have an 10. Honestly, I didn't notice much of an effect on my 09 from the scratch shield. I think you can detail both cars like normal.

I also have an 09 in Moonlight White with the "Healing paint". I machine polish and wax the car like i did my 05 white coupe that didn't have that type of paint without any noticeable difference in outcome. Wasn't there a problem during the first year (09) for the healing paint with body shops not able to get the paint to repair damages to these cars? Maybe they pulled it off the market for 2010 untill they could get it into the hands of repair shops and return it to the 2011 models. Just a thought.

I've heard and seen from dealers of many cases where the paint started to flake at the front bumper/fender joint. This happend to my white '09 after 2 weeks of taking delivery and the dealer bought it back. In my case the paint completely peeled off.
My replacement is flaking in the same area but it's not peeling back.
I've been told there were problems with the clear (flex agent) and the paint didn't work too well (heal) in some areas of the car

There are special techniques needed for the scratch shield paint. If you apply too much heat to the paint, you'll notice the clear getting sticky and tacky.

i never had any issues with my self healing paint. one wax every 2 months and it's shiny as can be...better than babysitting my '07 Infiniti G w/o it.

it's just special care with the scratch shield. i am glad they brought it back.
