2011 IPL tested

Hey everyone, did you guys see this?

IL Track Tested: 2011 Infiniti IPL G Coupe

Sorry if double posting but I did not see this anywhere...

So... this thing costs more and is slower than a regular G37S?

Granted Edmunds times are always a bit behing MT and C&D which they claim is due to roll out, but that's not the point... I know this car is supposed to be about better handling and better balance, but where did that extra horsepower go?

They had the traction control on. FAIL for Inside Line.

Wow my 5AT is faster? What? They need to hire some real drivers there!

No, your 5AT isn't faster. The traction control was on, which is why they posted a 5.8 0-60 time.

Pretty sad results I have to say. I thought the results were because the TC was on too, but the stats given further down in the article give the numbers with TC on and without (both sets of numbers are sad).

Yeah I noticed that. But even with traction control on, I don't see why it shouldn't go < 5.5 seconds. Either the car isn't any faster than a regular g or the driver sucks really bad.

The body kit weighs 1,000 pounds offsetting it's aerodynamic benefits. Think the IPL is a pretty car though!

Their test driver is good, he did the testing on the G37 7AT Sport Sedan and ran a 13.8.

1,000 lbs ? You are joking right? Even a few hundred pounds would affect the acceleration times.

Yes, I saw the other thread. Admins, please merge. Thanks.
