G Won't start this morning

Our 2008 (garage kept) would not start this morning. It fired for a brief second and shut off. Then cranking after that yielded no start or even a fire. I let it sit for over an hour and tried again, no go. It's cold out, below freezing but not as cold as it has been already. Battery is fine (red top) but just won't fire. It last started on Christmas day. It's a long shot but thinking perhaps water in the fuel line. Bought some dry gas and have a big kerosene heater in the garage to warm it up over the next several hours. TBC ....

The 08 have battery issues, even if you bought a red top, the car drains the battery. Take it to the dealer. I also recommend other 08s to get this fixed.

There are threads all over the forum and people are still baffled why their car won't start!

This is not a battery issue and has nothing to do with the battery drain tsb. I do agree that it does need to go to the dealership. Call roadside so they can come and get it.

Edit. Mine went into limp mode once on a botched start (my finger slid off the button, and I immediately pushed the button again). I disconnected the battery for 15 minutes and the car started fine. You could give that a try.

His car cranks but doesn't catch and fire. Not a dead battery.

yeah, car cranks fine. One hour with heater going ....going to wait another hour or so. Still plenty of time left in the day to get it to the dealer. Should I call them first or do I arrange the tow with roadside? Dealer is like 45 minutes away.

Went over the weekend to get this done.. I believe it is: ITB10-010C. Got my battery and vcv valve replaced.
Didn't help with my problem.
Cleaned the throttle valve which helped a bit, but I did notice my car having a hard time cranking up this morning.
Seems pretty weird..

Thats odd..i got mines done about 2 months ago with zero issues. Maybe you have another problem.

PS. You also get your ECU reflash

Just tried again .... strange thing is, after I hold the start button for a few seconds and let go, it stays depressed and keeps turning over. I have to push it again to get it to stop. Guess I'll get it to the dealer ....this sucks but oh well.

The car will keep cranking without the button being held down. That is normal. Did you try resetting the ecu by disconnecting the battery?

Dug my car out of 22 inches of snow and it hasnt been on since wednesday besides a wuick 2 min period to move it to the driveway and it started fine. (mind you i had to bring it in 2 times for them to fix the valve). After all this car is over 40k but acts like a 22k mustang with the build quality. Trying to sell it and get back into a german car.

FYI make sure you print out the TSB info and bring it so no excuses from the dealer.
