Oil level - G37 2008

So I checked the oil for the first time after owning this vehicle for a week.

The oil looks clean, which is a good thing, but I noticed the level is very close to the "L"

For those of you that may add oil once in a while yourself, does this level seem ok, or should I add more?

I know it may not be an exact science, but since it's so close to L, I thought I'd ask.

It should be close to or at the H level.

With 20k miles ours uses not quite 1/2 qt per 3K. Very acceptable...I dont add any until its at least a little more than 1/2 qt low. I change it every 7K miles using Castrol Edge synthetic.

It is normal. You may also want to drive the car after checking it the first time to get an accurate level. The oil should be at the top O on the dip stick. If it is below that add some.

I can check the oil before I leave, and it seems low, but once I get to work, the oil is back at its normal full line, hours after I park it, and check it again. Some people say oil rests on the top of the heads (2)... and that is why the oil looks low.

However, you should see a 1/2 of a quart, to a quart of oil missing, every 3750 miles (which is the oil change schedule)
