Advice on first mods

Just bought 2008 Journey coupe. This is a retirement present to myself so I don’t really want to look like an old fart just trying to relive my youth. Easier said than done. Having said that, I miss my dual glasspacks on my 54 Ford two door MT w/overdrive. Looking for a more aggressive sound while accelerating but docile - close to stock - at cruising speed. Considering axle back only – just doing it for the sound – Megan or Tanabe? Hard to tell from sound clips. Also, is SRI primarily for looks and sound? I don’t want any mods that should be followed a tune - this will be keeper for me long term. lace>Minnesotalace> is not exactly a hotbed for G’s, I intend to park mine for the winter months coming up soon – at least for this year. Not sure if there is anyone qualified to do a tune locally. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Congrats with your new retirement present. Certainly is a great one.

You may also want to look at Greddy for an axle back, they have a great sound. Def the SRI is for sound and they really do look great. I went with the Fujita, it is a fraction of the priice of R2C and I am very happy with it.

Tanabe mufflers with Berk High flow cats is a great set up. You can find some slightly used tanabe mufflers in the classifieds here for about 400 which is 300 less than original buying price

HKS catbacks are like 1900 right? Unless they make an axle-back.

With an axle-back or even a catback, you wouldn't need a tune.

You will get endless opinions because everyone who has one loves it, youtube and search are your best friends.

Personally, I would not go with the Megan Axle Back's they are quieter than the OEM axle backs.

Just my personal advice, lol.. Which is true.. I've been told, it is still breaking in.. Hope so.
