As a clarification, the 2010 G37 offers the backup camera without nav if you get the premium package. You also get the musicbox (though only 2 GB I believe)....

Though I do not use the Nav often, I have enjoyed it on the car. I dont have to make sure my Garmin is in the car before a road trip and worry about plugging it in when the battery gets low. Also, the voice activation is very nice. I can leave my hands on the wheel and just tell the car the location I wanted to go. Very nice.

nav was the deal breaker for me...i just couldnt see myself spending $30k+ for a car without it??? Sooo when i bought mine i got it with nav, sport,6mt, tech, prem, illum kick plates, splash guard, all mats, cargo net,r spec brakes, extra security system, dealer installed clear bra and 10% tint.

it's the only way to enjoy the car.

the nav is decent, i'd get it, the backup camera is "okay" you still have to turn around and it is pointed kind of low. if you don't get it, you can get something better for less money, just check your local audio/stereo shops, a rear view camera isn't that hard to install. let's be real here Lexus has been using them for 10 years, their are aftermarket systems and an aftermarket nav system can be added to show on the factory screen.

I've owned 3 G's, this is the only one I got with nav, it's not that great.

Enjoy your deal, enjoy your car, if you decide to get it later get an aftermarket system with BETTER maps, my car can never seem to find the places I want to go, sometimes it's more useless than mapquest.

Putting aside the inconvenience of removing, hiding or taking a portable unit with you to prevent its theft every time you park in public; looking ahead there’s also a higher resale value for factory nav cars. I just did mine on KBB and currently my car’s value is $635 more with factory navigation than without. Perhaps that’s not much, but my sense is it generally makes the vehicle a bit more attractive to a used car buyer.

+1 good point,, resale valve alone makes it worth it, because down the road, the car with nav/ bu cam will sell first... I personally wouldn't by a 40k car without it

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I went ahead and got it. I am now officially part of the community. The car is amazing, I wanted to keep driving and just not go home last night on the way home from the dealership. It seems to have everything but the nav and BU camera, which I have decided I am ok with, I would have preferred it but I just wanted to car too bad.

Welcome to the community and grats on the purchase. Regarding the nav/BU cam, just know there are TONS of aftermarket options out there and although it may not always come out cheaper than factory, can be made to look and perform WAY better than OEM.

That all depends on how hard you search and how deep your pockets are for a project of that caliber.

You will find yourself getting up at night, going to the garage and saying " man that is a nice freakin' car, can't believe it's mine!" Welcome and enjoy!

I've owned a g35 with no nav or back up camera nothing and I did perfectly fine with it! But purchasing my g37 it wasn't my intentions of getting back up camera with sensors but it came to great use! Even if you were to get navi I don't think you would be using it to much.
