Why did you buy your G???
I loved the G35 Coupe from the day it came out, I thought the body styling was like nothing else out there, the lines were perfect IMHO. Years later the kids grew up, had their own cars and the 11 year old Sienna was ready to go! Wife got a new job and would be commuting more ..had a few cars on the short list, the Altima coupe was one. Went to a Nissan dealer to test drive, it was barely just OK, nothing to get excited about but most new cars in our price range were going to be like that.
My wife looked over and saw a G37 '08 Coupe there and asked what's that? I said, "That's a Infiniti G37 Coupe, my dream (within reality) car". Took it for a spin ... and she says to me, "I REALLY like this car". I said, "you are preaching to the choir". We got a great deal on it, and it's been ours since October '09 and still love it just as much as the day we bought it and have had no problems. In a nut shell ...
Moderate price vs performance
Styling and handling
Not that common
Fun, fun, fun car to drive

When I started to look for a new car, I was open to just about anything that was in the "Luxury" lines. That put out your normal Toyotas, Chevys, Fords, etc. Once there, I knocked the list down based on the brand family (like Lincolns because they are Fords). This got me down to low end BMWs, Lexus, good Acuras, Infinitis, and believe it or not the Buick.
I was just about to go Acura because I could get a lot for the money compared to the BMW and Infiniti. Then in February, my wife found me a 09 G37 Sedan, brand new with Sport, AWD, Nav, and Premium packages for a very nice price. I test drove the car and jumped on it right away.
I love the style, which beat the Acura, BMW, and Buick. Still like the Lexus also. It rates highly in reliability, Buick was up there for luxury. It has a nice kick to it, with BMW being a good bet there also. In the end the G37 hit at the top in almost every category. Then the price made it a winner.

I had been shopping a wide variety of cars, but I kept coming back to the G because I enjoyed the rental I had (sedan though). My bro pulled up in his BS 37S coupe, took me for a ride, and I was sold. Had mine within a week.
I was just about to place an order on a brand new Audi S5, which I still prefer. But my G37S popped up on Autotrader with less than 2,000 miles and I got it for under $30k. The math didn't make sense to me, so I decided to settle for this car and pocket the difference. I still don't understand why it was so underpriced, but I'd also still prefer an S5... <sigh>
The looks, power, and beautiful interior layout sold me on the G. I had cross shopped the following...
BMW 335i Coupe - Too expensive with equivalent options. $52k.
A5 S-Line - Down on power, 6MT not available with V6 any longer
Caddy CTS Coupe - Didn't like the big mouth front end design.

Quarter Life Crisis. I'm young and single and can comfortably afford the car. I don't envision another time in my life for a while when I justify owning a luxury sports coupe. I fell in love with the 370z, but the lack of a backup camera and rough ride (I felt a bit sick after test driving it) convinced me otherwise. I was also considering a BMW 335i, but I've been treated so poorly just looking at their cars at multiple dealerships.
wife was cross-shopping the is350, 335 coupe and g37s coupe. after test driving all 3 cars, we were set on the 335. the high cost, lack of options for the money and wait for a custom ordered bmw sucked donkey *****.
the g37s was the fall back car.
we got a fully loaded 08 in November when 09s hit the showroom floor.
best deal ever + awesome financing = win
lexus and bmw didn't have any special financing and they didn't want to give us a deal we could live with

Couldn't take my eyes off of it when it came out. I was an unemployed, recent college grad then and figured "some day..."
Fast forward to a decent job and decent money...couldn't believe it but I got into my own this January.

I was looking for an AWD, 2-door vehicle, no exceptions. There weren't that many to choose from. Either they were AWD and 4-door, or 2-door and not AWD. I decided I would either get the G37X Coupe or the Audi A5. I ultimately chose the 2010 G37X Coupe because there is a Nissan dealership where I live, whereas there is no "sister" dealership to Audi here.
Love the styling of the Genesis coupe and the Forte coupe is not bad - but no AWD. The 350Z is great, but no AWD. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evo was AWD, but it didn't come in 2-door.
Love my G Coupe. Nav, Premium. Thought it was sportier than the A5. Very few (think I've seen one other) in my town, which is heavily Subaru'd. Very happy with my choice!
