g37x times?

hey, a quick question just came up. i was wondering, how much slower, if at all, is the g37x compared to either the regular trim or the s trim level? i know the g37 is said to be around 5.4 or 5.5 for the 0-60 from the majority of independent tests done, but i was concerned that with the added weight of the all wheel drive system (as ive heard) would decrease its time. pretty much i have the 2010 g37x and wanted to start bringing it to the track. i was wondering what disadvantages i would have in terms of acceleration and speed i would have compared to lets say a g37s.. thanks!

i think the 0-60 times are faster than the journey or S, but i may be biased as i own an 09 x coupe.

we're definitely faster on slippery roads.

x is faster than RWD cars due to all wheel.

sorry .. not true.
2009 Infiniti G37x S Sedan - First Test - Motor Trend

The above article is for the sedan the same applies to the coupe. This is not an AWD system like in the EVO or STI where it is on all the time and tuned strictly for sport. This one is tuned to be most effective in inclement weather conditions while still being sporty. This AWD system still quick and sporty but the RWD is lighter, quicker, and handles better.
From a dig the AWD will be more consistent but in the 1/4 mile it's weight will catch up to it.

Actually, C&D compared the AWD vs RWD coupe and found them virtually identical in performance.

"The all-wheel-drive coupe weighs roughly 200 more pounds than its rear-drive sibling, but the two cars turn in equal 0-to-60-mph (5.3 seconds) and quarter-mile (13.9 seconds at 102 mph) times. The extra heft is offset by better traction at launch, and the additional poundage doesn’t affect the G’s sharp handling."

Motorweek managed a 5.2 sec 0-60 time, and 13.7 sec 1/4 mile @ 103 mph...

x is definitely faster to 60mph and must be faster or identical in 1/4 mile. Then weight catches up.

I can see where the G37x might be able to overcome the extra weight, compared to the G37, in a 0-60 race, because of the G37x additional traction, at the start.
In real world driving and passing situations the G37 should be quicker.

g37x all the way!! times vary with everyone i ve seen as fast as 0-60 a 5.0 to 5.6 and 1/4 miles from 13.5 to 13.9 @ 100-104 mph.. being that i live in nyc.. the awd system on the x is more practical.. of late the winters here have been BRUTAL and the potholes are even more brutal plus in nyc and even long island u reallyhave not many places to test the handling of the S coupe. doesnt mean that i didnt wish i had the 19 inch rims.

coming from a Z, I love the awd for Ohio winters.

just wish I could have gotten a manual... that might make it the perfect car (for my price range)
