this may be stupid

But, how do you properly dyno an automatic car?
i am planning to dyno my car, but its an automatic, and i'read somewhere that automatic car won't get accurate reading? dont know if thats true.
But do you guys shift fromt the paddle shifts or shift ****? and for us with 7 speed.. which gear do we pull to readline? 3 and 4?

You want to dyno it in 5th gear, that's a 1:1 ratio. So put it into manual mode, accelerate up to about 75 mph, make sure you're in 5th and punch it.

Just a lil update, I did in 5th gear and I can't seem to get it to its maximum power.. The guy told me to hit it at 3rd gear and I got better results. Somehow at 5th I can't seem to 'bring it up'.. I got only up to 170hp...
Then I did on third and got 239.1.. Last pull I got 240.6hp@114KPH /179.4@114KPH...
