re: interior materials

Unfortunatley, quality of materials has been an Infiniti shortcoming. They have been improving over the earlier models.

Go to Riverside Infiniti's website. You'll find it there.

I know what you mean, that is why I prefer to drive with thin leather gloves. Better grip and no scratches.

I loved the washi metal trim pieces in my G37.

In my 2009 CTS-V the center console piece is this polished black plastic. This **** scratches like no other, I can't stand it. I wish it was the metal washi trim. I will end up wrapping it in CF.

Yeah, I think Infiniti skimped on quality materials in the interior to keep their price competitive.

Things that irk me...

1) beige ceiling and pillar linings. Should've been more neutral, like a light grey
2) material around the gauge/instrument cluster. Prone to warping around the edges.
3) aluminum (non-Washi) trimmings, prone to scratches and dings. The trim around the shift boot has a small ding, door pulls are scratched up!

The only part I've had issues with was the non-washi door handles with I replaced with the 09 washi handles. Every other surface in the car seems perfectly fine to me. I can't say that I'm particularly careful so it's surprising to me when people call the interior cheap or point out all the areas they damaged. User error

Maybe I should try using the door handle to open doors instead of kicking the door.

Yeah same for me with the drivers handle bud!
I noticed after I stopped wearing my wrist watch the damage stopped.
