Rattle and Creaks Dealer Warranty

I've had some rattle/creaks for awhile now and have been hesitant to try to get the dealer to fix it as they would have to take things apart and possible induce more rattles.

1) Faint rattle on drivers top seat belt buckle ( i think ) when braking and going up bumps at certain angles, Could also be something from the A pillar

2) Sounds like passenger windshield rattle when going over bumps

3) Center console creaks when turning and car torques, if i press against the panels i can sort of duplicate it

4) Passenger sunshade rattle, if i put my hand against it the rattles from there stop

5) Windshield popping, not sure if this is the right description but i hear some noise going over bumps that seem to be coming from the windshield

6) steering wheel creaks, intermittent when i put pressure on the steering wheel sometimes there is some creaking.

What i have installed:
-Escort x50 radar mounted on the rear mirror
-Garmin GVN53 GPS black box under the glove compartment
-Backup License plate camera
-Ipod/PAC NIS Video component to integrate backup camera and garmin gps

Obviously when they look through they will see the switch and the black box of the aftermarket install and know panels were removed etc to do the install. Do you think they will still help me fix any of the above listed rattles or will they blame improper install or the new aftermarket components are the cause of those rattles.

FYI I was experiencing the rattle/squeaks even before the aftermarket installs.

Almost 100% they will blame your interior modifications....

damn.. but most of the parts I believe the noise is coming from doesn't even have anything to do with the interior modifications

I don't think they'll blame the creaks on your interior mods if you go to a dealership that isn't a stickler. I just got my interior creaks fixed this past weekend. It got really bad sometimes on the freeway, so when it did, I took a video of it with my phone. When I got to the dealer, I tried duplicating it with the technician in the car, but of course my car wasn't really doing it that much then. He did notice it though after driving for a couple blocks, and after I showed him my video, he said he could definitely notice it then.

The problem seemed to be coming from the windshield and instrument cluster area. As long as your mods don't affect those two areas, you should be fine.

i had this annoying rattle coming from my passenger side rear. I thought it was the seatbelts, but no moved all of them out of any possible sound inducing areas. Then i thought it might be the clothes hanger, nope wrong again. Then i thought it was the plastic panel where the seatbelt goes into...nope wrong again. Turned out it was the seat release lever was loose or something. Just pushed down on it and toward the front and haven't heard a rattle since then. So happy it was driving me crazy. BTW this was for a coupe. Hope this helps.

I had the same issue with the center console. Instead of going through the hassle of explaining it to the dealer, I tackled it myself. I have found that even though the sound is most easily duplicated when you press on both sides of the cup holder area, it is actually the washi trim near the shifter and ashtray that is causing the noise. By inserting a small flathead screwdriver in between the black plastic and the washi trim, it will pop off. Make sure you remove the ashtray insert and the cig lighter before you do this. I then lubricated the edge of the washi trim and the edge of the black plastic trim where the two panels meet when they are back in place with WD-40. I did this two or three times to get everything lubricated. After putting the washi panel back into place, I wiped off the excess, and I was good to go with no more center console squeak!
