OK, so I'm back in the bay area. Wow, that was a long haul drive. The first few hours was a blast. By the third I was getting antsy and by the fifth, ugh. One of those ideas that sounded better on paper. Anyways, I stopped by my garage and took a few shots. Yes I have a decent camera and no I didn't try to take great shots. I was going to be all sarcastic in the reply but I figured no need to be uncivil. Anyways, like I've been saying (only to be called BS on, ok no more sarcasm), I'm a car fanatic and have owned quite a few exotics over the last 5 years or so. The G37s is the first 6 banger I've had since. . . actually I've never had one unless you count my wifes amg slk she had like 10 years ago. OK, pix first.
Delivery day on the F430 CONVERTIBLE (ok last sarcasm I swear)

I miss this car actually but am supposed to get the 458 Italia in October!

M6

Gallardo Convertible

lol I forgot I had this one. Ugh I hated this car

G and a M and a R! (Owned an X5 once upon a time, maybe I'm working my way through the alphabet)

My favorite

the 550 Maranello

Track Car! (modified like mad, 360HP on this thing and weighs next to nothing)

Lots of trunk in the M, G is way shorter though I spose

My storage Garage and yes I know the R is dirty

The new one

The GT is up in Napa and I know I'm new and all but I'm not really planning on driving anywhere for a bit, certainly not to take a photo. I know I have a pic of delivery day on this cpu somewhere. I don't think I have a pic of the Highlander, lol. I'll try to find it and upload it along with the DB9 later. Anyways, I like the G. Nice car. Doesn't "cruise" like a GT but is kind of hyper. I might have made a mistake with the high friction RSpec brakes though. They are a little too grabby too quick on a daily driver. That might change over time though. The sound was fantastic. Wasn't Lexus LS Mark Levinson (truly the best I've ever heard) quality but still quite good. With the top down it was very good. I've been trying to figure out why car companies don't put headrest speakers in their converts like my RX7 in Grad school had. I can't quite figure out how to have the map go default full screen. Seats were very comfortable. Trunk was plain awful. Notice with the top down on the M6 I still fit my clubs and other stuff in the back? I don't think I can put a lunch box in the G. I'll post more thoughts later. Uploading pix now.

Which do you like better

The F430 or the Gallardo?

Exhaust note wise?

Now what we need you to do is a hold a piece of paper in the picture with your G37 username. Lol! Just kidding man. Like I said earlier, congrats and welcome. It's good to see someone as successful as you not turning their nose up to Infiniti! I think a lot of people owe you an apology here.

You know the Gallardo had a very similar note to the F430 but it had one GLARING problem. At 3500 RPM it randomly opened up and went BLAUUUUGHHH instead of on just acceleration like the 430. The 430 was just music to your ears but in the Gallardo (I hate the term "Lambo", reminds me of Rambo and seems so classless, like saying Frisco) I would literally be in the same gear going over the bridge or something and every 2 minutes or so it would go BROOOM for about 3 seconds. Annoying to be honest and I could never figure out why. Meanwhile, one thing I will say about the 430 is they should just take the stereo and throw it out the window. What's the point? All you hear is engine. Good for listening to the ball game I spose but otherwise, quite useless. Better car is a bit subjective. The 430 is more fun, the gallardo has a more comfy interior (thanks Audi!). I'd give the nod to the 430 but by a slim margin. The gallardo is truly the best car Lamborghini has ever produced (maybe the Jalpa). The Merc is an absolute mess and I honestly have no idea why anyone would ever buy that thing. Great standing still, useless otherwise.
Callaway, Ha, I was thinking "oh FFS, I'm not going back over there to take a pic with G37.com on a postit!".
On a seperate note. When the hell is the rear spoiler getting delivered to the US again? I HATE HATE HATE this antenna. Everytime I see it I slap it and go "Boing oing oing oing". I'd just unscrew it and go to home depot to find some rubber thing to screw in but I want to be able to listen to the baseball game and I think that's the AM antenna.

Just curious on why you didn't like the z06? My father in law has an 08 z06 that he tracks at infineon he LOVES it and so do I, after the first time I drove it I wanted it. I mean I've never driven a Ferrari exotics like that but corvettes are awesome cars IMO.

Oh goodness there were so many things wrong with that car. It would be great on a track though. Everything from the interior to the electronics. My favorite part was the black cloth Handkerchief hanging from the ceiling that seperates the back from the cockpit. My kids played Puppet show with it. It just wasn't for me.

Amazing! R8 is a stunning car man especially with the carbon fiber.
The G looks really nice with the rest of the croud.
Do you have a list of mods you've done on the RX-7? I've been a big fan of the RX-7 and yours looks really nice and clean.
You need to get a GT-R in there aswell, that would be awesome.
By the way, hope you don't mind me asking but what do you do for a living?
Any tips for a youngster?

I've been semi retired for three plus years (I think I was 35 when I let everyone in the company go). I own/ran a hedge fund. Got beaten up by the downturn, made it all back BEFORE the upturn (very long story) then I put it into index mode and essentially shut down trading. Been a good year but crazy doesn't even begin to describe it. Anyways, I trade for an hour or so in the morning but other then that I write a little, read and play a ton of video games (working on finishing FF XIII then on to Gods of War 1,2 and 3 then back to the PC for DragonAge expansion). I had a GTR. I HATED it. It was incredibly ugly. The interior was a total joke. I used to make fun of the bolted on Nav system. Literally looked like it was put on as an afterthought. "Oh hey we should put a Nav system in here. OK Use this one and just screw it in over there. (translated from Japanese)". And the video game interior electronics, I mean c'mon really? Also that GIANT backside was horrible. Drove great but it was kind of like cheating. You don't need to know how to drive, thing drives itself. I'd never get one after that experience. Only had it for a month and barely drove it. Tips for youngster? Do what you love or you won't do it well.

Thank you very much for the review, I've been really wanting to rent one of those for a day or two (yeah can't afford one yet lol) and it's really beating the hell out of me, the Gallardo's lines and design are just insane, I could literally park that thing, get one of those director chairs and sit all day watching it while smoking my hooka haha.. But then again, the sound of that F430 everytime they drive by drives me plain nuts, it's just so distinctive you can spot it among all the other exotic exhaust notes on Dubai's beach road like a zebra among cattle! It's a tough decision however whichever one I end up driving will surely make me hate my G for sometime lol

Nice to see that the G doesn't look totally out of place or outclassed sitting next to the M6. Cannot wait for BMW to cleanse their vehicles of that wretched Bangle butt. Would have to say of all the cars you posted, your favorite would be mine as well. Love the cars designed while Enzo was still running the show, if they have gotten more reliable and usable through the years. Thanks for sharing!

I hope it was HUI index that you used, cuz gold had the best run in post crisis.

Shame you didn't like the GTR, I think it's a hell of a beast. Oh yeah, that was your previous 6 banger
