Buying a 08 G37S Auto Coupe!!!

Hello guy's I am new to G37S and I would like to know something about it. I want to get a G37 at the end of the year I am selling my Auto 2001 Maxima SE w/ Injen CAI and getting the Coupe... How much faster is the G37 than the Maxy? also how does the handling feel and the launches from the start? I want to put HKS Hi-Power exhaust and Dual Injen CAI w/ cats would that give me boost and a chance to beat a 335i? Im looking forward so my car can do 4.6 or 4.8 0-60 I mean stock it does like 5.3 right?

sorry automatics wont be in the high 4-second 0-60.... i never knew people still cared about 0-60 times.

The 335i's have torque off the line to get there but the G37's can handle it on the top end with the 335i's... just search and look on teh site for answers

any modded 335 can take g37s out. but any car that comes factory turbo'd has an advantage.

Looks by your post that your all about performance. If you want a all performance car you should just get a 370z instead of the g37.

Or a Subaru STI like me!

Does 0-60 from mid-high 4's, can bring it to low 4's easily w/ just a full turboback exhaust and cobb accessport stage 2. Add some aftermarket coilovers, and you can take on almost any high-performance car around a track or from a stoplight. Will certainly outhandle & smoke a G37 (though the G37 will easily win on a highway if you are rolling from 60mph). Though obviously you are giving up lots of comfort, leather, luxury, etc. It's a sacrifice I made though

Your 2001 Maxima is a slow turd compared to the G37. I came from a 2003 Maxima with the 3.5 VQ to the G35, then to the G37. You are already starting to compare it to a 335 and as others have said, the G37 is not as fast. You might spend $1500 on NA mods like your exhaust and intakes and squeeze out 6 HP. You still won't be anywhere near sub 5's or even 5.3 0-60. All a 335 owner has to do is upgrade their ECU for under $600 and get an additional 80 HP/TQ. If you are strictly about performance, you will be sorely disappointed in this car unless you go the FI route. Just my humble opinion.

Why would you not care about 0-60 times? It's one of the best ways to measure straight line performance.

Although I agree with another poster that the G may not be the car you're looking for if a fast 0-60 time is one of the most important attributes, it is still a very valuable test of performance, one of many.

if you are concerned about straight line perf. 1/4th miles times are more important.

Ok so you obviously didn't read the second half of my post because you were too busy linking in a foolish comic book character. Here it is again:

0-60 is not the be all end all, but lets agree that it's still a good way to compare apples to apples regarding performance. Nice language, BTW.

If you are looking at going the used route and all you care about is performance and speed, you can get a used 2008 Corvette for around the same price range or a slightly bit more money...They depreciate pretty quickly...

0-60 times are not important. they are... i wouldnt go as far as to say "gimmicks" but not as important as people make it out to be. Just like people who think horsepower is important and neglect power to weight ratio or torque.

many cars out there that are slower in the 0-60 but blow past in the 1/4th mile. (althought i wouldnt say beating by fractions of seconds is blowing by though.) So if a person was inclined to have a fast straight line car, he can beat everyone in a 0-60 but if he eventually ends up getting beat in a few more seconds whats the point.
