Gotta love the 500 club

Infiniti emailed me that the G was due for 30k service so I set an appointment, needed an oil change (free) anyway. Turns out the 500 club membership covers the 30k service and man is it a laundry list of items including rear end fluid change, trans fluid change, oil & filter, air filter, cabin filter etc..etc... plus wiper blades and full inspection. My brakes were were making some noise and had a shake at highway speeds and they did a full brake service for free as well. Rotors, pads, backing plates and brake fluid change for free!!!!!!! I asked the service manager what it runs if I were paying and he said a little north of a grand depending on if there is a promo just for the 30k service. Happy F'n New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow....

apparently its some sort of maintenance program some dealership offer. mine doesn't, or at least i don't know about it. can you only enroll at the time of purchase or can you enroll later on? i would definitely be interested in enrolling if possible

I don't know the details but there's no free lunch. Highly likely to be a ripoff if you're the type thats inclined to do your own maintenance.

After taking mine in for the 15k service I will never have the dealer perform maintenence work again. Freakin like 20 bucks to pour a 4 dollar bottle of injector cleaner into the gas tank. I told them not to do the wipers or air filter since I have aftermarket already. I wouldn't be suprized if it was something like 50 bucks to install a set of wiper blades. What a joke.

The 500 club was/is a program the dealership offered when we were negotiating. Sort of a closing incentive. I don't know what the enrollment cost is but it was a nice addition to free oil changes for life. Infiniti's way of offering something close to BMW's free maintenance plan. The only weak maintenance items on the G are brakes and tires, which it goes through both quickly. Soft pads and soft tires.

^ You get free tires? What if you took it to a track every few months and burned through multiple sets of tires every year?

Unhappy

I guess I bought my '08 G37s coupe a little too early....they were selling at the time (Oct. '07) and were going for near full sticker. I had no offers of, nor heard anything at all about any 2-yr. maintenance plans, or 500 club. I'll know better next time. I'm 'paying what it costs' I guess every time I go to dealership. I'm at around 26k miles right now and I've got the squeaky brakes developing. Also seems a little weak starting, and I'm wondering if I've got a battery thing to be concerned about. Guess I'll find out in next couple of days when it dips down in to the teens overnight here in NC.
