The button on the exterior door handle doesn't work unless the key is within inches of the handle. Which is wierd because it used to work up to a couple feet away. The button doesn't function with either of my two keys. In the rare chances that they batteries were running low i bought brand new ones for the fob and it STILL is doing the same thing. It some cases I've even had to take the key out of my pocket and keep it in my hand while hitting the button on the door.

Whats up with that?!?! any thoughts?

My guess would have to be the sensor on the car that detects the remote. Since you tried both your remotes and replaced the batteries, it pretty much rules out the remote as the problem. Time for a dealer visit!

interference perhaps.... has anything in the enviroment changed since this started happening?

 

Did you recently tint the windows? If so, did they use metallic tint?
