Got into an accident :(

i gotta replace the passenger side quarter panel.
Is it possible for me to replace it by myself or do i have to take it to someone? Also how much would it be to paint a quarter panel and i would have to buy the RIGHT quarter panel to replace the passenger side, correct?

I bet you can do it your self. I would not even attemp it. Getting it alligned and then taking the damaged one off without scratching or further damaging the car. I would be mess just with those two items. IMO I leave this for the professionals. I would say this would be a $1,200 repair. Painting and installation with the fender. If you buy it, it would be paint and installation. I always think it pays to get the right people to do the right job, the first time. Always the cheapest way.

Actually you can't do it yourself. You woul dhave to cut out the old panel and replace it with a new one. A job like that will set you back at least 5-6k .

Do you not have full coverage?

you have to take it to a body shop, that panel is like an outer skin that needs changing

Do you not have insurance?

Take it to the dealership.

damn, that totally sucks

and getting it done at one shop will be cheaper priced than doing it at 3 different shops.

you could buy the part on ur own and bring it to the shop
and get it installed and painted at one shop.... that should be a bit cheaper

That sucks.......when your car get fixed , go to different insurance company. I have State Farm....they don't raise hit and run.
and insurance coverage should not effect your rate..... talk to state farm Agent.

I dont know how it is in NY but in Florida if your vehicle is parked/unoccupied and involved in an accident, FL state statute does not allow insurance companies to raise your rates. I had two hit and runs on my previous G35 while it was parked/unoccupied and my insurance did not raise my rates.

Also to replace a quarter panel on your own is crazy. To purchase the part alone, your looking at about $500-$700. Labor is between 15-18 hrs to install. Then you have to weld, seal and paint. This is a job not to be done on your own.

Did you get a police report? State Farm Insurance, they will raise your premium in Hit and Run/ Under motorist case if you don't have a police report.
