Security Immobilser - help - my car has locked me out!

Hi all

What used to be the best car ever is now a 1600 kg lump of metal in the garage downstairs. The service advisors here (Dubai) are completely useless and I can not figure out why neither key fob will work.

All I keep getting is the red car symbol with a key inside (security immobiliser) flashing at me when I push the start button.

Have tried both keys with the same result.

Not sure if maybe it's a dead battery(?) as the key won't let me turn on the lights etc but don't know if it's the security stopping me or the battery?

Any help would be appreciated!

Did you try putting the fob into the slot to the lower left of the steering column?

What does the info screen above the odometer say when you are in the car, with the keys? Does it say "no key"? If it says "no key", you will have to have it towed to Infiniti and have the keys re-programmed. (Happened to a buddy's Murano). Otherwise, you may have tripped the immobiliser somehow, in which case, it may have to sit for some time before it will restart.

And if it's none of those, have your mechanic check your fuses... I've had a fuse blown for the ignition thingamajig (boy don't I sound technical) and the car wouldn't start because of that. My mechanic put in a new one and everything was fine!

Hi all

Already put the fob into the slot and the car symbol with the key in the centre of it (no key) was flashing.

The batery on the car is now dead..? Would have it towed but am 3 floors down in the car park and the roof is too low to gte a trcuk in.

managed to get a technician to make a house call - hopefully can sort it out!

This has nothing to do with your car not starting, btw. It's suppose to be flashing when you car is off, it means your car's security is functional (and doesn't mean your engine immobilizer kicked in).
