Need Opinions

Hey, new to the forum and the car I'm looking into selling my accord and buying a g37s in manual. looking for a used 2008 with about 2-13k miles but have a couple of concerns about the car, i never owned but driven a manual car. i heard about some problems with the clutch and the jerking with gears, do all people get this? does the car hold up with parts braking? hows the car in the snow? is automatic better? is it better then the g35? what do you really think about the car is it worth the money for the people that had experienced it? Just to let you know i am going to be a college student and will be driving from LI to RI plus daily driving.
Hope to get some good feed back thanks for the help and the advice, hope to be a new owner

Welcome to the forum!! Ok, let's go through your questions:
1)The clutch isnt bad its just a little harder to drive than most manuals, but after a few days of driving it you will be fine.
2)The car holds up very well IMO
3)If you have snow, get the AWD, the RWD sucks in the snow (duh its a RWD
4)The paddle shifters in the AT are cool, but nothing beats the 6MT
5)HANDS DOWN better than the G35 IMO
6)Absolutely yes, its very very very much worth the $$

I absolutely love my 09 6MT. Its the best investment Ive made thus far. Hope you get one, you will love it!!

^+1, and I would go with the auto if you weren't planning on getting the Manual for sure because you are going to get same performance, and much more convenience, and the paddle shifters rock. Oh and comparing it to the G35, i just got a 37 and had a 35 and its a whole different car. Just amazing, get the 37 or you will regret it.

Manual or automatic should be an easy choice, if you want to tilt the needle all the way to max sport, go manual. If you want to compromise between sport and lux, go automatic. If your regular commute is full of stop & go highway crawling that may be enough for some to prefer auto. If your looking for full control, nothing beats having a clutch. Were we talking about a Corvette it would be a sin to do anything but manual, this is a lux sport couple however so you'll not be damned to hell for either choice.

Worst car I've ever driven in the snow, then again that's with RWD and dry/wet HP tires so to be expected. I'd either move or get AWD if you have snow to deal with.

35 is nice, 37 is better, especially the interior..do the math

Worth it, we'll there's really no other comparable choice in it's price range, the Genesis coupe is a nice alternative for quite a bit less, worth a look, you'll have to make the call there.

I disagree with you snow comment. I find my G quite good in the snow. I put a set of pilot alpins on for the winter and don't worrie at all. However I have blizzacks on now and will be selling them this summer to go back to the michelins.

This is Shumby's second G37 by the way...but I'll give him more experience in the snow and at flying the G37 . Fortunately it rarely snows here but when it does... I'm screwed totally with HP tires. I lived in CO for 18 years, know how to drive in snow and this car's a sled without snow tires.

thanks for the responses guys helps me out a lot, I went to the dealer today and sat in one looked at the colors and just fell in love with the g37. I talked to a sales rep about snow handling, he alone said it "sucked" although he told me he used to put about 100Pd's of sand and salt in his trunk in to winter and had wheel chains if he really got stuck. doesn't sound like a bad idea since it doesn't really snow that much down here and roads are mostly clear but their is always a chance. Ill be moving to RI so ill be only coming down to LI on holidays and that's all open road anything besides that is city driving. like i said before i have a 08 accord sedan and i have been kicking myself for not getting stick.
if anyone can give me any other advice i would greatly appreciate it, thanks for the help again.
