good and bad news, the bad news first

so originally, i was going to buy a '08 base model w/ premium for 31,000 and 15,000 miles. i went to the dealer today to finish up the purchase and
a. the car was not ready
b. they did not fix ANYTHING they were supposed to fix
c. i had to wait 45 minutes before they even started to do paperwork
d. they then told me they had to send it to a body shop because of the hood....?
(what the f**k does that mean)
e. i told them $27,000 or the deal is off, or they could negotiate
f. they are a**holes
g. the sales rep hung up on me when we were talking on the phone so i had to complain to the sales manager, who hung up on me after a 20 minute conversation because i said that i will NEVER consider buying a car from them and i will tell everybody i know not to go to PEPE Infiniti in White Plains, NY

now the good news!

so i did some research and i found a NEW '08 coupe that was left over. it is a journey w/ premium & sport. no navi though. i am paying 34,000. the car was reduced, then reduced to $40,000 then to $34,000 so they could fill their April quota.
i am picking up the car on friday! I am so happy the deal at Pepe Infiniti did not go through because i would have not gotten one w/ sport pkg, which is what i really wanted. so i cant wait to pick it up and i will let everybody know how it is!

^^^ +1. It's your money, you deserve to get exactly what you want and what you were told you were buying....sounds like the one you WERE gonna buy was beat up a little bit. Now you'll have a brand spankin new baby for a few dollars more. Can't go wrong there!!! Enjoy.

if you had a honda previously, it is a very risky choice to move onto Infiniti,

i am fortunate enough to compare Honda to Infiniti in about everyway since i own S2k and G.

Buy a G, if you have some free time to visit dealerships in and out every month or so, because im pretty sure, deep inside of you, you probably think that cars dont give problems obviously from owning a Honda. it is hard to get used to something you are not expecting to deal with...

if i was you, i would so stay away from G. i really meant it as you being former honda family...

congrats on the purchase, she looks great!

fwiw, i went from an Acura to a domestic to a G35 Coupe to a Civic, and am hoping to go to a G37 Coupe in the next year or so. I never had many problems with my G and I got better service treatment from Infiniti than I have from Honda, so based on my experience I would say you won't find the Infiniti any more trouble to maintain than your Civic. =)
