...yes, its basically a radar thing that looks at traffic in front of you to regulate your cruise control. Look on your steering wheel on the right hand side, see the on/off and the icon with the three bars with the car icon? This is the adaptive cruise control. Did you not know what you were getting when you bought the car?

 

Yes, if blocked the laser do it's thing.
