We just had first bad snow storm in MI on Tuesday, and I just put on my snow wheel/tire setup on Sunday. Thank God cuz we got about 4 inches in a few hours. Once you get moving, you are ok with stock tires, but starting is horrid.

My first G35 was in 2004 and I had no idea what "performance" tires meant. I couldnt drive on plowed streets. Since I was coming from Mustang GT with all season tires, I didn't understand why this was happening. So like a dumb@ss I put sandbags in my trunk, but that didn't do jack sh-t.

The next year I bought 17 in wheels with Dunlop M3 tires and 225 width, and that thing trucked through snow like a jeep. never got stuck once with those. Last year i had hard time finding smaller wheels to fit over the brakes, so I just got 19'' wheels with Blizzaks, and not nearly as good as the 17s with Dunlops. But I can still move, just a bit more careful now.

I have Nokian WR G2 in 235/50/18 + Tirerack 18" rims (Sport Edition?).

No problems getting around, so as long as you don't mash on the gas pedal. Be wise with your gear selection, maybe launching from 2nd gear so you don't spin your tires if it is a very slippery area might help.

Like any other car ... leave plenty of space in front of you and realize no matter what tires you have, your car will obey the laws of physics (ie Newtonian laws of motion, etc)
