Does the 5AT in the 08 really bother you that much? I can't say i would trade just for a different transmission. Take the car out for a testdrive, and then i'm sure you'll realize that its not worth upgrading, unless you didnt have a G to begin with.

Hello ucla bruin,
Auto is the available one. Before i got mine, i was asking for the manual even it'll take more money, but they said that the auto is for the gulf.
That's way.

agreed the ONLY reason to change would be if you want to go from a stick to auto. the 7at is the main reason im waiting on the 09 model because i am ONLY looking at auto cars.

This may be the wrong place to post this but here I go anyways!

Is there a significant speed difference between the 08 6MT vs the 09 7AT? Such as 1/4 mile times?

Thanks!

I have seen many changes from the 08 one, the 09 is has more options:
  1. clear front light ( No orange signal color ).
  2. light can be moved with the wheels left and right.
  3. new 7th speed gear.
  4. 4wd (optional).
I'm about to change the car because of the 7th speed gear (That was the 1st reason).
I need your opinions please to choose between the 2 models (stick on 08 or change it with the new 09).

Thank you very much

hi there , i'm from kuwait too
i bought the 08 g37 in june too , and i saw the 09 , seriously i think its not worth it , they told me it would cost 15,500 kd which is more than what i paid for the 08 by 2,500 kd

the 7 speed will make the shifting smoother , which results in a smother ride i think, but thats it , everything else is meaningless

i say dont waste your time and effort

Hi sistylez,
i have asked the company the same question, they said that the 6mt is really good for the g37 that why they did not change it.
But for the 7at they will change all the gears for the new models.
As you can see most of the companies now on the same line.

Hi chasemyaccord,
According to the site, all the cars are US version.
what we have received in Kuwait is Japan's version under the US name (Infinity), in Japan they use Nissan.

Hi ucla,
only the cars rule is different, like ( US ver. must have the orange light and the red light.... )
more colors Interior and exterior for USA.
also the audio satellite is available for USA.

and what i have noticed is the sound of the car.
The US ver is louder.

First off the auto in 5 or 7 is sucking power no matter what gear. Also keep in mind the car loves to up shift to save gas. My 08 is in 5 i think at above 35 and guess what the car sucks at low rpms. The car is best at above 3k when it starts to kick in so at above 60 in 5 gear the car is reaching its peak pwer.

when infiniti starts putting 7spd pdk then it will be well worth it since it doesnt suck power away quick shifts.

infinit 7 spd is a gimmick to make people believe its and improvement. They could of dont the 5 speed with an overdrive button for the hwy. 7 speed on roads with 35 mph is not necessary is it gonna shift all the time.

lose money on you 08 if you will its a gimmick so save gas when gas prices are coming down.

lol
