I'm not saying you'd be better off with a 09, but when you resell it, it'll have greater resale value than a 08, so that alleviates part of the cost difference.

I know the dealer you are working with... and I think that they are pretty desperate to unload cars. I was told that Infinity holds back 09's thill they clear out the 08's... so even though 42,800 is decent you could do better.

What colour did you have before shumby? The black is a b***h to keep up in our climate. My wife has a black TL-S and I forever am washing it and the stone bruises really show. And... you should get the 6MT

I would get the 08 as you are being discounted the full depreciation, so paying more for an 09 and getting more for it when you trade would be a wash.

im in the same boat. wait for the 09s or take an 08 with a huge drop in price. im going auto so i really want the 7at so im going to try waiting it out. plus im really picky about what i want on the car so first i have to wait on them to find 1. only have a couple more weeks in a rental then its out of my own pocket so thats another factor doh.

Have to go with the AT for the wife. If it was a 6mt I was getting it would be the 08 no issues but I really want to see the 09 7at. I had black before and ya PITA to keep looking good but worth it IMO. Was talking with the wife last night and we are leaning to the 08 but we will see. with the money saved on the 08 It will make it quicker for me to replace the maxima. Wife is FX50S or 370Z. And yes she wears the pants in the family. lol

I read you... my wife always wanted a black car and I had always said no... but rolled over last year. You are right, when it is clean (and new) it is hard to beat. This spring I had it Ming'ed... the dealer had done the Diamond coat which IMHO is useless.

Good luck with your decision... either way you will have a great car.

PS - I got lots of pressure on the 6MT as well as she does not drive stick... but she has her own fast ride For a 4 door auto that TL-S really jumps.

My wife drives stick just says if you buy a luxuary sport car get the at. She is a good driver just lazy. Our second car 03 Maxima is black as well. But it is looking tired and there is only so much detailing can do. I usually get my car detailed at autodetails in the city. Is Ming's better?

Go for the '09 even if it's slightly more expensive.

Detailing is good, but the Ming process polishes and seals the outer paint (clear coat) surface. I don't know all the details, but it is a multi part process that gets all the paint swirls out. I like to have it done in the spring to get all the scum off and it really gleams. It is about $300 for the first application and then $100 for each subsequent treatment. I had an 03 Agean blue Acura CL-S ... great colour, but as bad as black to keep up. Ming made a world of difference... I highly recomment it.

hmmm well i talked to my uncle who is a mechanic/seller/buyer and he told me that when it comes to 08 vs 09 cars it really doesnt matter unless the body style changes kind what the link at the bottom says and as 5at vs 7at he told me unless you have a really bad driving skills you can get about the same or more with the 5at vs 7at if you go the speed limit and punch the gas.

but yeah as for 08 they are giving huge deals. im in dallas and talked to sewell and crest infiniti and they gave me a quote with premium, nav, and tech for 38k + tt&L which is good but crest told me if i bought the car within november on the 08 that they will give me those options for free and pay only the base price either being 35,650 or 36,200 depending on the model type.

^um 7at has more aggressive gearing for more down low power. plus the higher gears means lower rpms at higher speeds and better fuel economy. thats a pretty big difference in my book.

If you're not driving it during in the winter, then wait. You're probably feeling the void and need to replace it with a new G. But don't buy it just to have it sit there to look at.

Wait, and get the 7AT, if you're a AT driver, I'd get the 09. Better overall, especially when money is not an issue. What do you have to lose?

It feels like from the facts you listed, the decision is pretty clear. It's just that you might need some support and people backing you up on this. Or, you might want to hear that you should just get it 08 now for the instant gratification?

In either case, I say 09 FTW, shumb!

ya that instant gratification is nice but the more I think about it the more i know iI should wait for the 09. I agree though is i was getting the mt i would jump on the 08. I do drive the g in the winter but the wife and I can survive with one car for a while. I work over seas so i don't need a car to comute

Instant gratification is very nice but you gotta fight the urge and do what makes the most sense sometimes! Haha. I know everyone does this, I'm in constant battle with myself all the time :/
