Ceramic tint option
Ceramic tint option
Hey G-people,
I have been a lot of pro and con with ceramic tint. I decided to go get a quote on ceramic tint today...it came in at $350. WOW. Is it really that expensive? The guy also told me that he cannot go any darker than 30% with ceramic. Is this true?
Thanks

I'm pretty sure they can do darker than 30%... Although depending on your state laws, some installers won't installer dark than what the law permits. Could this be where he is coming from?
30% Ceramic tint will reduce UV rays and light about the same as 15% LLumar. If you don't want to go darker than 30% then it would be a better choice. Personally, I think tint looks terrible unless it is at least 15-20%. If he can't go darker than 30% technically he could double it up.
I got huper optik tint on mine. Ceramic tints are generally lighter (look wise) and are thicker compared to other tints.
With the higher price tag, I agree with Blackjack and say that you get what you pay for. With regards to only going to 30%, you can go darker.
If you are going to pay $350, just make sure that the tint has a tag embedded on it.

I've got 30% front and 15% rear ceramic on mine. It was installed at a grade A place in Elk Grove, CA. There was no "20%" offered though; either 30 or 15, though they did have a 5 as well.
