Panic button on key

Has anyone ever used the panic button on their key fob? The BMW one doesn't have one which is nice because while I'm fishing around for the key in my pocket I know that I can't screw up and press a button that is going to cause all sorts of noise. I guess if I'm a female in a dark parking lot at night it would be useful.

i've used it a handful of times by accident. while bending over, the keys put pressure on the button and cause the alarm to sound.

it works.

Exactly my point - you've set it off several times accidentally. I just assume not have the button there in the first place.

Even tho I'm female, and work night shift - I can say I've only set off the panic alarm by mistake. i think it would come in handy if you see someone shifty walking towards you or your car at night. You can set it off "by mistake" before they get near you and see if that would be a deterent (but I think my Glock does a better job of this ), or if you're feeling really sick (like about to pass out), setting it off would get attention.

Never used mine on purpose either.
The dealer can disable it if you want.

Ah, I may take them up on that offer.

Because I feel like I'm about to pass out so often as I'm approaching my car. j/k

As an aside, do people seem to pay attention to car alarms. Unless I'm walking past it as its going off I'm more likely to be annoyed by it rather than go check it out. I suppose if I was breaking into the car maybe it would shoo me away.

How far away does the key fob work? With my Civic way back when it seemed like I could get it from a mile away. My 335 gives me maybe 30 feet. With my Jeep I have to be almost touching the Jeep. Guess I'm out of luck if I lose my Jeep in a parking lot.
