it pulls but not like the first time i drove a g. im probably used to it and not notice it as much. with stockies back on, i definitely feel a difference with the car picking up. with my ssrs, the car felt heavy as a ****.
actually to share a piece of knowledge with you guys... the motor break in process is actually its first 15 minutes of life. once the metals heat up and expand they settle in.
the most important key element in the motors proper break in is the correct air fuel mixture. once you drive a few miles and put some load on the rings they settle in. thats it. from that point on you can beat the **** out of it, if it breaks something was wrong from the beginning.
there is no difference to a race motor or a daily driven one.
of course 1000 miles is a piece of mind... and of course your properly seating in the organic clutch... if you had a twin disc or ceramic, you could do a burnout right in front of the dealer.. lol they need no break in. hahaha.

By the way I'm not sure if I would call this a "downgrade" ... if anything, it's a huge upgrade over the 04 M3 - both looks-wise and technology-wise.
Just go check one out, you won't be disappointed

I have to say i agree with the referenced article regarding the hard break in is the best. I read that bit of info when i had my BMW 330 CI and it made sense and although I did not consciously exceed the factory recommendations for th G a few times in the the first month I pinned the needle on the tach and held it there as the car slowed down with engine braking. This is the first brand new car i have had in years so you would think i would be careful but WTF it's a car and under warranty so I let it rip.
The thing about our G's is that they are stealth. What I mean is that they are deceptively fast, M3 beater fast ( E46- last gen M3) A quick burst from a stop light makes the traffic behind me look like they have not yet noticed the light change. Not that I am a light foot but even a moderately aggressive hole shot from a traffic light is impressive to me ( And most likely to the people behind me....way behind me)
So enjoy the cars boys, we have quite a well made, fast and comfortable ride. I am lucky to afford one. Even my wife , a lovely young woman with absolutely no affinity for nice cars says she thinks its a phenomenal ride.
I do not let her drive it, she has a talent for banging things up especially her vehicles. She somehow thinks that because she never hits any moving vehicles that is better than hitting stationary objects like parking garage cement poles, my company car with her car and the best one, the side of our new house! It a good thing she is beautiful otherwise.............

Man that last paragraph was funny! I enjoyed reading your reply...I like to see that I'm not the only one as passionate about this car...it's just amazing. I just got to Miami for the weekend - left my car back in town - and I miss it already!
