The only reason I would say taking it into the dealer to get it changed is because they will do it for you, check a few things and wash your car. It shouldn't cost more than $45.

Although doing it yourself is cheaper, from my experience the paper trail of getting it done may prove it's weight in gold if something were to happen and you needed proof of oil change.

I always take it to the dealer. It's not that expensive. I pay $32. I also always have them sign the maintenance book that they give you with the owner's manual and fancy bag with the tampon. The paper trail is there on the dealer's system, but I think it would be something that a future buyer might appreciate therefore willing to pay more.

Side note: Nothing against your judgment Patrick, but letting the dealer wash the car = (especially if you have OB)

mine was 41 yesterday. i think they use castrol

i take it to them so that they can have a record of it being changed. just in case this motor ends up with issues like the old motors and they want to bish about it being your fault because you don't change the oil right. i had to take it in to have a few other issues looked at anyway

Paid $40 at the dealership. Not out-of-line for my area. My local quick change place charges around $30 something for my Durango. I take the G37s to the dealer. I might start doing it myself once I have the space in my garage but I do like the dealer to poke around and see if anything else needs attention. My dealership does a good job washing on black, too.
