Leftlane News G37 Review
comin from my 03 tiburon this system is killer lol!!! but compared to my moms 2007 Mazda CX9 and dads 2007 GMC Yukon (both have Bose) mine is clearly the worst.... i dont understand???? Id love to toss in some focal components but im lackin in the money situation :P
Please don't tell me a fracking GMC and/or Mazda (aka Ford) have a better sound system than the G.
im serious! id say the Yukon is the best....
but wat really matters is the drive not the audio!
and sorry about being a thred junkie but the CX9 is actually made in Japan and is not "really" a ford but i see where yur comin from haha

I think it sounds excellent for a "stock" stereo system. And im the type of person who is use to having at least two 12'' subs and crisp components and tweets surrounding me. For being stock G37 or not, i love it and give it a
if you think the bose in the G37 is bad, you should listen to the B&O system they have in the A5/S5. yah sure bose can pass in a 40k car, but the junk they put in a 50k/65k car is a joke. it really is that bad.
That's a pretty glowing review. What's interesting is tha tevery magazine has commented that the G37 has improved in every measurable performance category except for weight. And all reviews have said that the G37 is more attractive or have improved looks and yet people who don't own the car or who are not in a position to own it continue to say that it went backwards.
Coming from a previous generation G35 C the mag reviews are consistent with my assessment.
As regards the Bose system. It all depends on the type of music you are listening to and th emusic source. As far as stock systems go, when I save files on thmy CF card and save it at a higher bit rate, the bose sounds tremendous ...9.5 on a scale of 1 - 10. The XM radio quality is sub-par on many stations (5 out of 10). CD play is 8 on a scale of 1 - 10. HD - depends on the bit rate.

Also, is it possible to move your CF card music to your HD?
Any of you guys who think highly of the stock audio setup - what kind of home audio/home theater systems to you have that you compare to? I know it's apples to bananas, but it's still fruit (ie: still music and audio).
Impressions like these are always subjective, and always have a great deal of perspective to them...
Edit: Not saying anyone shouldn't be "happy" with the Bose setup, not at all. Just trying to raise awareness a little that there is better equipment for the money than via "better sound through marketing" (hehe) -- I know I don't want to fall into the trap of "well I paid for it and like it so therefore it's awesome"...make sense? I think everyone is better served by being a discerning consumer.

sound is a matter of perception, much like a lightshow, or the taste of frozen fruits. a BIG part of it depends on what each individual perceive, since perception is based on prior experiences combined with present mood.

so how does bose fit in ? in my opinion, the bose system sounds pretty good compared to a multitude of cars i've driven (big variety of rental cars, friends cars). After listning to the bose on the G37, i cant ever go back to the ones in the mazda 3 or civic.
.
B&O its a different story, but i dont know how well B&O will work in cars, by all means their home systems are absolute amazing.

I can't believe the review mentions a handheld GPS being better than the built in one. I've only seen a couple handheld units but they were inferior by far.
As far as the Bose audio system, I find it to be pretty average. IMHO, it's all a matter of speakers. This system doesn't come close to my home systems which are pretty good but not exactly audiophile quality. A drum kit sounds like a drum kit when I listen through the Klipsch Heresys in my living room or the Lascala separates hooked up to the PA in my basement or the Mackie studio monitors hooked up to my DAW. A true audiophile might say the imaging is poor or the mids are a bit harsh on the Klipschs but they sound much better than the system in my G.
