Got 99 Problems and MY G is one

1.Took my car to the dealership due to the "surge issue"..ECM flashed and issue resolved
2. A week later idle is rough, SES light is on. Took it back to the dealer and they kept it for 4 days. SES indicated a cylinder misfiring. They replaced the ECU and ran several test drive (wasted 30 miles) and said its ok.
3. Drove it this morning and noticed IDLE is a lil rough and SES light flashing rapidly every approx. 5 miles but staying off.

LEMON?

Should i wait for the SES light to stay on solid before taking it back to the dealership...

NO!!! Take it to them now. Why wait around for the problem to become worse? Tell them to give you a loaner car and have them do some test on it.

I would have them note the mileage they use to test out the car. I have never leased but I would think that mileage added to your car to diagnose and fix a problem wouldn't count against you. Maybe a leasing expect on here can answer the question though.

ses light flashing

When your ses light is flashing that is the exact time that your car is misfiring!
When the ses light stops flashing the light should stay on permanently. On newer model cars OBD 11 and up the computer software will shut down a fuel injector for the missing cylinder so that the catalytic converters wont get damaged. It sounds like to me the computer is taking a dump. Call them up ...get yourself a loaner till its fixed. That constant misfiring is damaging converters...and eventually the engine. I am emissions certified, CMAT, L-1 advanced engine specialist...for many years..BRING IT BACK TO THEM!

Welcome to the forum, Tony

we can use some additional expertise, at least I'm sure I'd benefit...

Thanks TONY, great explanation... The car is back at dealership for the 3rd time.
They did give me a loaner (04 g35 sedan to be exact) I was like WTF. So anyways I jumped in and AC was on blast. Pulled out the dealership and that piece of !@#$ started to over heat!!! I busted a U and they swapped with an 08 G35. what a headache!!!!

Get records for EVERYTHING! Make sure those records are accurate before you leave the dealer. If this turns into a Lemon Law thing the person with the most (accurate) records will win.

just hope that the mileage the rack up is similar to what u would have driven anyway which u will have the loaner for...maybe see how many miles u put on the loaner and compare to what the put on ur G...if its the same more or less you'll prob sleep better
