Planning on a Summer '08 Purchase, should I wait for a 2009 model?

Was planning on purchasing a new G37 this Summer, but I just realized that it is so close to the 2009 year (the '08 G came out late August) that maybe I should just wait for the 2009 version? Cost isn't really a factor as I remember last summer there wasn't a big price difference between the G35 and G37 at the same time period (only the options of the '07 G were discounted). What else is new for the 2009 version other then the hardtop convertible option?

Thanks

You will just need to wait until we find out what changes for the 09.

09 should come with the new JATCO 7 speed AT. The 09 G37s announced for the European market have already confirmed this. I would definitely wait for the 7 speed auto.

Of course, if you're getting a 6 speed manual, then this isn't an issue.

Are we also assuming better gas mileage with the 7 speed auto?

I'd wait cause...

there are bound to be some changes - most likely for the better since there are quite a few quirky things being widely criticized that one would hope would be addressed. Maybe they'll even restore the Voice-Activation capability they so badly butchered - turning a really cool and functional feature into mediocrity (at best). Plus, if you don't prefer the "09 version, you'll still be in a great position to deal on an '08; I'm pretty certain Infiniti is behind on moving the '08s. Good luck with your decision!

+1 ^^

I'm waiting for the '09, hoping that Infiniti will address the Nav functionality issue while driving and use better paint....

09 gets the new scratch shield/self healing paint that the 08 EX35 debuted.

The Infiniti EX comes standard with Nissan's new "fluid finish" technology. The specialized paint has been tested in Japan on the X-Trail crossover, but the launch of the EX marks the first time the technology will be available in America.
Minor scratches in the clearcoat will disappear in hours or days thanks to an elastic resin that flows back into shape after being damaged.

We always get everything late.

I'm in the same boat, I can prob score a good deal on the 08 but the 09 will probably have something I have to have. The 7 speed would be sick but we'll see.
