First year SW & HW Bugs

Guys, I'm thinking about getting a sport G37. However, the 2008 is the first model of it's kind (different than the G35). Has anyone noticed anything with the Hardware of software that should be worked into the next years model? I'm thinking about waiting for the 09 version (no not the convertible) due to my experience with first year models.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Uh, its a first year model for the engine only. All interior and related component items debuted in the 2007 G35 sedan. The transmissions and related drivetrain components have been around for at least a few years.

Possibly?? I was thinking the same thing but jumped on it due to the financing they were offering. One thing I have noticed is switching between radio/xm/musicbox stations/songs. When I first change the "source"(switch between XM and fm for example), I will try and scroll through my preset stations but when I get to preset # 3 (out of 6), it will jump back up to preset #1. I will then have to scroll up to get to preset #6 and then it works normally. Seems like an easy bug to fix though with a download from the dealer if they ever come out with a patch.

Other than that, it seems really solid and well engineered.

Just went to my dealer last week and they don't have the color/package I want. I have to special order mine and would take about 3 months. I thought about it and I might as well place an order for a '09 model and wait an additional 2-3 more months. (assuming it'll be out August-September). Good things comes to those who wait, right?

I'm waiting. The prospect of a 7 sp auto or G37 sedan is too compelling. We'll know what's up soon enough and if '09 brings nothing, there'll be better deals on '08's. Glad I'm a patient man...

If the first year model G gets a 5 sp auto and the VERY NEXT YEAR it gets a 7 sp, that would be nuts. I'd be pretty upset (not that I could do anything about it, but i doubt infiniti would do this).

I wouldn't really expect the 7-speed auto until the mid cycle refresh. It would make more since to introduce it then.

bmw had the 325/330 it's first year...guess what happened the following?

of course, that's bmw. but hey, you never know...but i agree w/ the ppl above, i think the 7-spd will debut mid generation.

as far as software bugs, i've had my navigation freeze on me twice (once when i really needed it!)...it sucks since you can't listen to music while you're waiting for it to reset too. hope they have that fixed next year.
