You and any passengers should wear neck braces, just to play it safe.
Good luck. <grimace>

I think it's very similar to a motorcycle. Few years back (more like 15 years back), my cuz had a bike and he let me try it out although I never rode one before. I knew how to drive a manual and I just applied the same concept to it and surprisingly I didn't stall once on the bike.

D. Heed everyone's advice and have someone who knows how to drive a manual transmission drive it home. You surely don't expect to be able to drive it home yourself, do you?

Make sure you set up the seat and steering wheel so you can work the clutch comfortably without having to stretch to floor it or hit your knee against the steering wheel to let it up. Give lots of gas and release the clutch slowly to get out of 1st, at least the first few times until you get the hang it. Don't assume your past motorcycle riding experience is going to help that much; I rode bikes for years before driving a manual and I think most people will find that it's easier to handle the throttle and clutch on a bike because your hands are better suited and practiced for fine control than your feet. I'm not saying that riding a motorcycle is a piece of cake compared to driving a manual, but the physical driving experiences are significantly different and don't transfer well between the two. Just stick to the essentials for the drive home - get out of first without stalling and try to avoid or minimize neck-snapping low gear shifts. Leave VDC on

That said, good luck and enjoy, you've got yourself a bad-*** car. When you stall just remember that you're doing it in style. Drop the window if it's not too cold and get an earful of the exhaust, especially if you go through any tunnels or underpasses on the way home.

I've been driving stick for 13 years and I managed to stall mine within sight of the dealer after delivery! The clutch action is a bit abrupt before you get used to it so I imagine you will stall it at least once.....

I'd say at least C. I"ve never owned an auto, been driving for 20yrs and riding motorcycles for 13yrs. Still managed to stall the G once on a incline. You will get use to it's abruptness and it will then feel nature. I love it! Also I agree motorcycle and car feel quite different. As wicked as the G is it still cannot give me the same adrenaline rush I get on a bike.

C and very possibly E.

Be sure to take someone that knows how to drive a stick with you so he can take over if it goes badly.

C&E. I stalled for the first time in this car about two weeks ago. I've driven a Manual since I was 16, so for 10 years. I was so proud I had it for 4 months stall free. 1.5 hours in Atlanta traffic caught up to me that morning. I was so embarrassed.

Hope there is no snow on the ground tomorrow. Be real careful if you are definitely driving the car home. The G s**** in the snow. Slipppery, Slippery, Slippery.
